This item comes with an integrated thunderbolt 2 cable. If I use a thunderbolt 3 cable on this device, will I get thunderbolt 2, or 3, performance/speed?

The only way to connect this drive via Thunderbolt 3 is either the Apple Thunderbolt 3 Male to Thunderbolt 2 Female Adapter, or via USB-C to Thunderbolt 3 port on the Mac (cable that is included in the box)

This Lacie says it is Thunderbolt but I'm realizing it might just be a Thunderbolt 2 or 3, which is different shape. And I can't find an adaptor so it can plug into my Thunderbolt 1 port. Hope I don't need to buy a new iMac...

Mary again. The drive arrived and I'm happy to say the Thunderbolt cable is the right one for my 2013 iMac. It includes USB-C, which the iMac also has, but I'm assuming that Thunderbolt cable will give me the best speeds for editing video.
