I think this is one of the better hard drives at this price point. So far my experience has been great with it. It works very well for my use case of archiving pictures.

Worked great on arrival- too early to tell if it will last. I wanted to buy an off brand because they seem to be the most reliable. My old mac pro with lion read it right off the bat. I reformatted for mac os journal via my old mac (lion osx) for time machine and it reads on both Catalina (new mac pro 2019) and Lion.

Bought this external drive for backup purposes (Time Machine, MAC). Previous backup drive too small. So, 1 TB capacity of this Buffalo drive more than adequate. Works fine. Except that this drive does not offer USB-C capability, I would have rated 5 stars. Would be nice to have conventional USB 3.0/Thunderbolt and USB-C port options.

Love this product, I have 3. Gave the 1T to husband. I use the 2- 2T with my Mac Laptop Pro. I've had two of the 3 products over two years. No problems at all and fast.

Perfect fit for MacBook Air

I purchased 2 drives, one to use with Time Machine as a backup for my computer and the other to store photographs. Both drives worked perfectly and intuitively right out of the box. I connected both drives with the thunderbolt connecter. At this point, the drives are definitely 5 star. The drives are well made, sleek, and small. Great for storing away, travel, and take up minimal room on a writing desk.

Will this work with a macbook pro on catalina using time machine and also does the connector go into macbook pro?

Yes, it can but it will need to be reformatted on the Mac as HFS+. And if your Macbook Pro only has USB-C ports, you will need an USB-C male to USB-A female adapter such as https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1128928-REG/apple_mj1m2am_a_usb_c_to_usb_adapter.html

question

Drive running slowCan anyone help? Running a speed test on both thunderbolt and USB 3 I'm getting read/write speeds of around 60 mb/s running a speed test. Is there something wrong with this drive or must I simply get something else for video as this is only good for PAL/NTSC according to the test. I'm on a Mac Book Pro 2.2 Ghz i7 which has a solid state internal. Both the MBP and drive are just over a year old. Thanks for any advice
