Mint Camera SLR670-S overview

  • 1Description

The Polaroid SX70 is considered a classic among instant cameras. MiNT Camera has bought the SX70's classic design into the modern era with more manual control over the camera, by creating the brown SLR670-S Instant Film Camera. The most recognizable part of the camera is the folding design, which makes it compact when collapsed, and easy to open by pulling up on the viewfinder.

The Time Machine is an external module that connects to the SLR670-S and gives full control of the camera's shutter speeds. There are also two different auto modes, A100 (SX70 film) and A600 (600 film), which are in tune with the ISO's speeds. Unplug the Time Machine and the camera will automatically go into A100 mode.

The electronics have been fully revamped and the electronic eye has been updated over that of the original SX70 to give a proper exposure. If you find your image a little over- or under-exposed, adjust the brightness control wheel to control the exposure for another picture in the same location and lighting.

Focusing is made easy by the SLR viewfinder and the split image circle; rolling the focusing wheel to the left or the right slowly focuses what you see in the image circle. Each pack of instant film contains a built-in single-use battery to power the camera.

    Mint Camera SLR670-S reviews

SLR670-S Instant Film Camera (Brown) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best Polaroid camera! I bought Instantflex TL70 about half year ago, I truly fell in love with it, I love its vintage outlook, I love its function, and then I go and figure out more about MiNT, and found this gem, their signature camera MiNT SLR670-S. This is a modified vintage camera, a true vintage from 1970s. But to my surprised, when I open the box, the camera looks like new. It offers 2 auto modes, A100 and A600, both are very easy to use, just focus and shoot and the result is awesome. And then it offers a range of manual shutter speed, including 1/2000. The manual shutter speed is very useful if the lighting in the environment is complicated. I would recommend this camera to everyone who loves Polaroid!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most advanced SX70 in history I just love my slr670s so much because I own a normal sx70 but it is difficult to use due to automatic metering. With slr670s, I'm able to set shutter speed manually and accordingly. No more backlit photos but accurate ones. Great camera overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW The camera is absolutely gorgeous. Beautifully restored and takes excellent images. Would definitely buy another Mint camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive, but great. I have several SX-70 in good shape, but the restoration process by Mint is amazing. And the Time Machine is a great way to have full control of the camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Camera and B&H Service The first SLR670-S I bought was from B&H and had a viewing screen problem, possibly due to a hard drop during shipping somewhere. B&H had no more in stock and with a trip coming up soon I decided to go to directly to Mint and that camera is working out great. It is not an inexpensive camera but with the manual adjustments and accurate auto metering it at least helps pay for itself in much reduced film waste. The main reason I bought the camera was I love the look of the Impossible Projects (Now Polaroid Originals) B&W film and being able to adjust the camera manually allows an additional level of creativity. The camera also looks very nice. Now to the B&H return of my payment for the first camera, - it was fast and I was updated every step of the way. It was also easy to do online. I have been buying from B&H for many many years and will continue to do so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive upgrade and accurate metering I bought this camera when it was first released - with inflation it is closed to the same price upon its initial release. It is am amazing upgrade of the shutter and metering and additional electronic control. This is a major restoration . Orig shutter less than 1/200 to now as high as 1/2000. Very accurate metering. The original was not accurate. It is impressive!
