    LG SPJ4-S reviews

    SPJ4-S 120W 2-Channel Wireless Rear Speakers for SJ4Y and SJ5Y Soundbars is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from This is my personal opinion, others may feel differently: I didn't have very high expectations for these add-on speakers but I still cannot recommend nor give positive feedback about this item. I first bought thwe soundbar and without really having time to look over it, I ordered these due to a good sale price. A couple days later I realized they couldn't decode basic DTS and other common HD sound mixes but it was too late o cancel the order. I figured I could at least try them when they arrived and if the sound was decent, I could probably just live with this. I had assumed that since there were left and right labeled rear speakers that they would be separate channels for the layers effects in a movie soundtrack. It seems they just payed the exact same as the soundbar from both additional speakers, without any variation regarding the intended mix. It also seemed that they were competing with the soundbar to be louder and practically drowning the front sound out. Using the remote control to alter the volume of the rear speakers, to turn them down a bit never really worked as there was no comfortable level where they were quiet enough to actually hear the front speaker before reaching the point where the sound was so noticeably small that it was distracting. It also seemed they only worked with the cinema mode and would shut off using other modes. They did work on the bass mode as well when listening to music which just blasted the sound through both of the additional speakers making streaming music sound more enveloping and full, which was good- but just just won't cut it for speakers supposed to be true surround sound when playing movies. I've returned the soundbar this past weekend since it was brought locally and hoping to start the return of the rear speakers to B&H without too much hassle. Save some time and aggravation by just skipping these.
