Burris Optics XTR II overview

  • 1Description

Gain a tactical advantage with Burris Optics' 5-25x50 XTR II Side Focus Riflescope. This riflescope is intended for tactical and competitive long-range shooters, and represents a robust, precise optic with a 5x optical system and a thicker maintube (25% more) than the original XTR riflescope. The lenses feature index-matched fully multi-coated surfaces that deliver great clarity and visibility in most lighting or environmental conditions. In addition to excellent image quality, this optic provides a generous maximum eye relief of 4.25", windage and elevation ranges, and an illuminated SCR Mil reticle. This 1st focal plane reticle features a MIL-based modified German #4 style. It has a full field milling crosshair with an illuminated T-shaped central portion, and is intended for engaging targets at long distances, in low-light conditions.

Designed for a lifetime of service, the 6061-T6 aluminum housing (with a single-piece 34mm maintube) is waterproof, fogproof, and shock-resistant. Featuring Burris' triple internal spring-tension system, it will hold zeros through hard recoil and impact. Also noteworthy are its graduated and finely knurled XT-100 windage and elevation turrets with 10 MILs per revolution and Zero Click Stop technology that permits for a quick and easy return to zero. The side focus parallax corrector offer a range from 50 yd to infinity, helping to improve precision aiming by removing ambiguity.

    Burris Optics XTR II reviews

5-25x50 XTR II Side Focus Riflescope (Illuminated SCR Mil Reticle, Flat Dark Earth) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent features, okay glass. The full range of features associated with this scope are excellent. Turrets work exactly how turrets should. Illumination is spot-on with no bleed-through. Zero stop simple to set (although a second set of hands helps). Weak point? Optical clarity. It is significantly below similarly priced offerings (although they typically do not have the range or quality of features associated with this Burris). Compared side-by-side with similar low-mid range FFP scopes, the Burris is foggier, and harder to find my eyes (although the side-focus/parallax is adequate). If long range features are more important than optical clarity (they are for the rifle I purchased this for), this is a phenomenal scope.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lot of Optic for the Money Mounted scope in Leupold Mark 4 rings on Savage Ashbury Precision in 6.5 Creedmoor. Zeroed in three rounds with minimal adjustment and was sub-MOA all day. Tracks perfectly after cranking to limit in all directions. Easy zero stop reset on elevation and windage zero reset. Beefy 34 mm diameter. B+ glass, fine for 1000 meter+ shooting; just not dazzling like a $3500 optic, nor should it be. Some minor chromatic aberration, but nothing that will affect accuracy. Comes with 3" sunshade and flip caps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best long range optic for the money ! An absolutely amazing optical. It was recommended to me by a friend that is a long range shooter. He uses Night Force scopes exclusively but said this is the next best optic he's used. I mounted it on my Savage ba-10 and have shot out to 1000M with it. The first focal plane makes calculation easy. Highly recommend this Optic.
