Celestron CENIBCMCFWLK overview

  • 1Description

B&H built this Celestron NexImage Burst Monochrome with Filter Wheel Kit as the ideal telescope accessory for star parties, classrooms, or uploading and sharing to social media. It includes the NexImage Burst Monochrome CCD eyepiece camera, plus software, to capture videos of the Moon and planets, or the Sun (with proper solar filtration), on a Windows computer. The camera mounts onto the Skyris filter wheel, which holds up to five filters, and B&H includes four filters to get users started: red, green, and blue-colored filters; and a broadband Luminance filter. With the kit assembled and mounted on a telescope that accepts 1.25" eyepieces and accessories, users can send images directly to their computer and change the filter color by simply rotating the filter wheel. Images can then be stacked and edited to produce unique and distinct images.

  • Celestron NexImage Burst Monochrome CCD Eyepiece Camera (1.25")

The NexImage Burst Monochrome CCD Eyepiece Camera from Celestron is a monochrome astroimager designed to capture images of the Sun, Moon, and planets with our solar system. It's compatible with any computerized telescope or a non-computerized telescope with a tracking motor drive. Use the 1.25" nosepiece to quickly swap the NexImage with an eyepiece, or directly connect it to a C-mount back.

A Aptina AR0132AT monochrome CMOS sensor captures 1280 x 960 resolution images with exposure speeds from 1 second to as fast as 0.0001 of second. Using a monochrome imager lets you attach filters or filter wheels to capture specific color images then you're able to matte and layer with imaging software to create customized color images. The included Registax software analyzes each frame of video, throws away the ones affected by atmospheric turbulence, and perfectly aligns the best frames. With the ability to tweak settings such as the gamma, sharpness, RGB balance, and color mixing, the resulting image is bright, clear, and focused.

  • Celestron 1.25" LRGB Four-Filter Set

The 1.25" LRGB Four-Filter Set from Celestron provides the filters for using the LRGB astroimaging technique. This technique entails using a monochrome CCD imager to capture individual images with each of the three color filters and a fourth, monochrome image, with the luminance filter to provide the brightness. The images are then digitally layered to create a bright full-color picture of the subject. Each filter also blocks up to 99% of IR wavelengths, which can cause images to appear slightly out of focus, and have anti-reflective multicoatings to increase the transmission of the specific color of light.

While this set is made for the LRGB imaging technique, they can be used by themselves or stacked, for general astronomy to enhance the viewing of planets and deep space subjects. They fit most 1.25" eyepieces with filter threads from many manufacturers, and with their 26mm clear aperture, they won't encroach on the fields of view for most eyepieces.

    Red Filter Uses
    • Blocks all light wavelengths except red
    • For general astronomy, use this to enhance views of Mars, especially the ice caps, and cloud formations on Jupiter
    Green Filter Uses
    • Blocks all light wavelengths except green
    • For general astronomy, use this to increase the contrast on the lighter areas of Jupiter, and to enhance the polar regions of Saturn and Mars
    Blue Filter Uses
    • Blocks all light wavelengths except blue
    • For general astronomy, this filter is the best for highlighting details on Jupiter and Saturn, and is great for lunar observations
    Luminance Filter Uses
    • This filter blocks all wavelengths except for Red, Blue, and Green, to provide a bright image with all colors expressed
