This B&H Kit includes the MSI Z270 Gaming M5 LGA1151 ATX Motherboard, Intel Core i7-6700K Processor, along with two 8GB DDR4 3000 MHz memory modules, letting you build a high-end gaming machine. The 6th-generation Intel Core i7-6700K processor is unlocked, which enables you to overclock the CPU over its maximum speed of 4.2 GHz, thanks to an Intel Z270 chipset on the Gaming M5 motherboard. Other components you can enhance are the two memory modules with XMP 2.0 profile support, which allows you to easily set the memory modules in frequencies of 3000 MHz, instead of 2133 MHz. Aside from enhancing components, one U.2 connector and two M.2 slots are on board, so you can install PCIe-based SSDs in the system for ultra-fast access to your data.

    MSI's Z270 Gaming M5 LGA1151 ATX Motherboard joins the performance from your Intel 6th- or 7th-generation processor and up to three dedicated graphics cards together, letting you create a gaming desktop computer. This motherboard comes built with an LGA1151 socket and an Intel Z270 chipset to support Intel's Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, Pentium, or Celeron processor. With an Intel Z270 chipset, it holds a greater amount of ultra-fast SSDs, via two M.2 slots, than an Intel Z170 motherboard. A built-in U.2 port is also available without the need for an M.2-to-U.2 adapter. Furthermore, it features an ATX form factor to support three PCIe 3.0 x16 and three PCIe 3.0 x1 slots along with four DIMM slots, which can offer memory speeds of up to 3800 MHz.

    The Z270 Gaming M5 is equipped with onboard LEDs that illuminate the inside of your case with seven colors as well as five effects. You can control these LEDs via a Gaming app or mobile device.

    On the rear panel, the Z270 Gaming M5 has been outfitted with two USB 3.0 and three USB 2.0 ports to access printers, scanners, and other devices. To quickly transfer data, it comes with two USB 3.1 ports that deliver data at a rate of up to 10 Gb/s. Moreover, one of the USB 3.1 ports features a USB Type-C design that lets you connect a USB-C cable the first try. There are also HDMI, DisplayPort, and Gigabit Ethernet outputs. Other notable features include six SATA III ports as well as a Realtek ALC1220 audio codec chipset, which delivers 7.1-channel sound to your speakers and headsets.

    The Core i7-6700K 4.0 GHz Quad-Core Processor from Intel is the sixth generation of the Core i7 product line that is now built using Skylake architecture. This processor features a base frequency of 4.0 GHz and, as with many Skylake technologies, it comes with features such as Intel Turbo Boost 2.0, Hyper-Threading, and vPro. With Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 technology, the maximum clock rate this processor can achieve is 4.2 GHz. Additionally, this processor also features four cores with eight threads in a FCLGA1151 socket and has 8MB of Intel Smart Cache memory. Having four cores allows the processor to run multiple programs simultaneously without slowing down the system, while the eight threads allow applications to complete tasks sooner by working in parallel. This processor also supports up to 64GB of DDR4-2133/1866 MHz and DDR3L 1600/1333 MHz RAM, has integrated Intel HD Graphics 530, and has SSE 4.1/4.2 & AVX 2.0 Extensions, as well as AES New Instructions.

    This Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0 GHz Quad-Core processor is well suited for users who are interested in general-use tasks, such as Internet browsing, checking E-mail, document creation and editing, and multimedia playback, as well as more intensive tasks that are able to benefit from overclocking. This K processor is also unlocked, meaning that it can be overclocked past its maximum turbo frequency . However, overclocking past the maximum turbo frequency is not recommended.
