The B1V1-L L-Plate Set for Nikon 1 V1 from Really Right Stuff is a modular design composed of a base plate and an L-Component. Therefore, both parts create an L-Plate, and the L-plate can be changed while on top of a tripod, from a vertical to a horizontal position without sacrificing your center of axis.
The L-Plate maintains complete access to the battery door and the camera's ports. Both parts can be separated slightly, and retightened with the included hex key if more room is needed for your tethering or cable release. Furthermore, there is no obstructing of the camera's LCD monitor.
Type II black anodizing has been applied to the CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum. The anodizing has given the L-Plate a smooth surface, which is resistant to scuffs, scratches, and corrosion. Furthermore, the L-Plate has a laser-engraved center marks on the back of each axis for alignment on a tripod head.
