TP-Link HS105 overview

  • 1Description

Control up to two devices in your home from anywhere in the world by plugging them into these standard three-prong HS105 Wi-Fi Smart Plugs from TP-Link. Each plug enables you to turn on and off devices such as a lamp, fan, or coffee machine. The Smart Plug connects to your iOS or Android mobile device via Wi-Fi, allowing you to access any item plugged into the outlet through the Kasa application.

Once connected, you can set a schedule for your devices to follow, or use the away mode, which will automatically turn your devices on and off, giving your home a lived-in look. The Smart Plug works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for easy-to-use voice control of plugged-in devices.

Remote Access
Control devices plugged in to the Smart Plug wherever you have an Internet connection, using the Kasa application on your mobile device.
Scheduling
Set the Smart Plug to automatically turn on and off at scheduled times.
Away Mode
The Smart Plug can turn your device on and off at different times, giving your home a lived-in look while you're away.
Alexa and Google Assistant Compatibility
Alexa and Google Assistant are digital ecosystems that enable you to interact with and control compatible devices simply by using your voice. Additionally, app control lets you use your smartphone to access functions on the go.

    TP-Link HS105 reviews

    HS105 Wi-Fi Smart Plug Mini (2-Pack) is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not great. After a week I decided it's time for a review, and it's not pretty. These things serve one purpose: turn a thing on and off. The Android app can be used manually, I can tap my phone and ask Google Assistant, or I can tell Google Home to do it, but that's all they do. For me, all too often they do it poorly. About one time in five, they seem to lose connectivity and I have to turn the lights on (a desk lamp and a bedside lamp) by pressing the button on the side of the plug. Google home says a problem was encountered, and the Kasa app on my phone they both appear to be grayed out and non responsive. Another one time in five, I get the same problem report from Google Home or Assistant, but after 45 seconds to a minute, the unit seems to wake up a and the lamp clicks on. One of these units is 4 feet from the Wifi router. The other is about 6 feet away. You have one job, TP-Link Smart Plug, And you suck at it 2 times out of 5. I will be told by some that "you get what you pay for." I paid $50 for a little box to turn a light on. How much SHOULD one pay for that?
