Can this be used with a straight headshell? I notice this one is angled
Asked by: Rene
This tonearm will accept universal head-shells. The design of the tonearm requires a tangentially positioned cartridge.

What controls the turntable speed? Does it have quartz locked speed control, or is there a screw on the underneath/bottom side to screw with like other Audio-Technica models?
Asked by: Douglas
Yes- there is a bottom screw to make finer speed adjustments. Using a small screwdriver like ones used in eyeglass repair kits was useful to me. It is belt driven and it runs on 2 speeds. It plays LP's and singles. The 2 speed selector is in the front of the turntable. While it stands pretty well on it's own, it is even nicer to upgrade the cartridge. On an additional note- the built in phono preamp is convenient as with other AT models however, if you have a good phono stage in your integrated amp or receiver, you may elect to go with that. (There is a line or phono switch on the back). Otherwise you might consider to upgrade that element as well with a better phono preamp to bring you to higher grade of sound. I got the Schitt Mani for mine. This is a really nice turntable to leave alone if you like it's sound or build upon to improve. I got it because it is good to have a TT that you can play and not worry if you fall asleep. I think it is worth the money and worth it to get from B&H. Happy listening! CMK
