Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-SHD Reviews

An upgrade definitely worth the money

I was worried about spending the money on this AP. I have a 4500 sq/ft two story home and this single AP give me 5 ghz coverage everywhere in the house and on the back patio. Prior to this AP, I had an AC-Pro and I would get 2.4 Ghz in the majority of the house. I have ATT 1000 Fiber adn with an iphone xs Max, i get about 450mbps up and down near the center of the house and 250-300mpbs up and down in the far corners and on patio. Overall I give it 5 stars. If you need extended coverage and great speed, this is your AP. Only problem is that it gets very hot!

Quality, simplicity and performance all in one!

I used these to replace my long serving AP-LR Access points, what an upgrade, 5x the speed, everyone in my household noticed the difference.  This is enterprise grade technology that is made for everyone.  Cant go wrong with the simple SDN setup that Unifi provides.  Always upgrading and enhancing through upgrades.

Great wireless performance with great coverages indoors and outdoors. One concern is thermal issues.

This product has great features and great coverages. One thing is that this device gets very warm borderline hot. Since this AP has no active ventilation I had to place this on top of aluminum block in order to tackle the thermal issues. It works great with high load of clients on average of 50 to 60 users at anytime.

question

What's the differente AP-AC-HD to SHD?
Asked by: Alexander P.
The SHD has three key features: 1) airTime - real-time visibility into channel utilization at the packet level 2) airView - real-time visibility into RF environment across all channels 3) WIPS - wireless intrusion protection system which is a dedicated dual-band radio constantly monitoring and protecting against threats
