Gigabit Ethernet
The Instant 802.3af Gigabit PoE Converter works with 10/100/1000 Mbps ports to deliver high throughput speeds over its wired connection.
PoE Switch Compatibility
The Instant 802.3af Gigabit PoE Converter integrates seamlessly with a variety of auto-sensing 802.3af PoE switches for remote power control applications. As you manage and monitor your network, you can conveniently power or power cycle your remote devices using your 802.3af switch.

For ease of power management, you can centralize the 802.3af switch and power source, and you can include a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) as a backup. This way your network continues to run even during a temporary power outage.
Ubiquiti Compatibility
The Instant 802.3af Gigabit PoE Converter is compatible with most Ubiquiti PoE devices using 100 Mbps or Gigabit Ethernet ports. Compatible products include airMAX and UniFi devices.
Longer Cable Runs
High voltage carries power more efficiently (using less current) than low voltage. The Instant 802.3af Gigabit PoE Converter enables longer cable runs due to a more efficient power delivery–so your products can get the power they require even when they are located far from the 802.3af switch.
ESD / Surge Protection
The Instant 802.3af Gigabit PoE Converter provides an additional ±15kV of Ethernet isolation for built-in protection that lessens the risk of ESD or surge damage to your devices.

Ubiquiti Networks INS-3AF-I-G Reviews

Great product! Awesome design!

This 802.3af PoE to USB adapter is another great product from UniFi. It really has two great uses in my opinion: it cleans up your IT rack or desk for all those little IoT devices that have to be USB powered and it gives you the ability to restart the connected device remotely (when on a UniFi PoE switch and using the UniFi Network app or web interface). These two advantages make it worth it. I'm constantly trying to make more of my equipment PoE powered because it is way more convenient and it allows me to free up another plug from one of those USB wall bricks...always a win in my book. I have several of these, some of which are several years old and I've never had a problem. For a future revision I would love to see a version that passes the Ethernet data to a port as well so you could use that too, but ultimately not a big deal.

Works as expected, will be buying more

Works great for my older Unifi APs. Will probably need more of these when I replace my older Unifi switches that do not do 24V PoE for my Rocket/PowerBeam devices that require the 24V.

POE solved

I was baffled why my gigabit switch with POE wouldn't power my wifi mesh antenna that runs on POE. Turns out there are different POE types and this little gizmo bridges the two devices. It works perfectly and I thank B&H for helping me solve the problem.

These ubiquity poe converters are 20 dollars each and always found here on B&H and not on Amazon, if I did find these on Amazon, they are always double in price per unit. Thank you B&H!

Truly instant.

I have some older Ubiquiti devices that don't support 802.3af. This lets me power those devices from my newer switches.

Powering a Nanostation 5AC from a Unifi switch that only has standard POE and no passive POE.

I have the ubiquity edge router er-x that takes 24v passive input ( I guess that is something non standard). If I buy a ubiquity 8 port switch that has active PoE (802.3af) can I use this adapter to then power the router through PoE using the switch as the ‘power source’?
Asked by: Amit
The AF converter does not do 24V passive. Many Ubiquiti switches do, but you need to hard-configure the port to do so. Use the US-8-150W.

I have a TPSCPOE 1248 solar powered PoE injector. It does 48V, .625A output, which makes it line up with 802.3at standard. I need the output to go to 24V passive poe for an access point. Would this work for that?
Asked by: James
Indeed it will as that is what it is designed to do. From the Quick Start guide: PoE In Gigabit 802.3af PoE port: Connect this port to an auto-sensing 802.3af PoE Switch. The switch will automatically activate PoE. PoE Out Gigabit 24V passive PoE port: Connect this port to a 24V passive PoE device.
