NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-Series Graphics Cards
NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 10-series graphics cards can deliver up to a 40% increase in performance over the previous generation. This changes mobile gaming, allowing you to max out your game's visuals settings so you can enjoy it at its best. Furthermore, 10-series graphics cards are VR ready so plug in your favorite headset for a new computing experience.
Dolby Atmos Laptop
With Dolby Atmos technolgoy, the Y720 delivers immersive audio over headphones. Thanks to positional audio, you'll fel like you're inside the action as the sounds of people, places, things, and music come alive.
VR Support
The Y720 is equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card and HDMI/USB 3.0 ports, so you can easily plug in your virtual reality headset and experience a different way to play.
Lenovo Nerve Sense
Lenovo Nerve Sense is the customization software that lets you adjust keyboard lighting, customize hotkeys, and streamline audio.
Integrated Xbox One Wireless Controller Support
The Y720 is built with integrated Xbox One Wireless controller support so you can take a break from the keyboard and mouse.
Programmable Backlit Keyboard
The programmable backlit keyboard on the Y720 lets you type and game in dimly lit or dark environments. Swap through its wide range of colors to find one that fits you. Moreover, it's programmable so you can adjust keys as needed.
Thunderbolt 3
Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB Type-C connector. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, Thunderbolt 3 features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also transmits data via USB 3.1 at up to 10 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2 allows you to connect up to two 4K displays simultaneously. Additionally, you can daisy chain up to six devices from a single Thunderbolt 3 port.
Make Music Anywhere
Stagelight is a software for creating music that's included on your Legion Y720. It's available on other Windows devices, including smart phones, tablets and desktops. You'll be able to make beats, mix loops, or create full songs with vocal tracks.

Windows 10

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Cortana
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana, can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the Internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Laptop, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information-gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

    Lenovo 80VR001BUS reviews

    15.6" Legion Y720 Notebook is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bang for the buck for gaming! I've searched high and low and for the money, this is the best spec'd out gaming laptop for the money! Packed with i7 quad 7700HQ and GTX 1060 6GB, this thing is a beast. The screen is nice and bright with a fine smooth matte finish that doesn't glare in bright daylights. The only thing I am not fond of about this laptop is the red color scheme on the keyboard - It has been done a gazillion times by different manufacturers. The speakers are nice but I've heard better from MSI gaming laptops. This one is lacking some bass. Overall, I give this laptop a 9/10. Buy one! You won't regret it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from In hindsight, I should have gone for a different laptop I chose this laptop based on the spec and look of it. One nice feature that attracted me was the customisable backlit keyboard. I had to return the first laptop the day after I bought it because the keyboard would not light up at all, not even during startup. It proved to be a faulty unit so the laptop was exchanged by the great guys at B&H, who even swapped my hard drives to save me from backing up & restoring my data. Now after having owned it for 2 weeks, I still like it for the power and speed but the customisable keyboard now seems more of a gimmick than something from which I can benefit - no matter how much I try, the setting changes I make to the backlight colour, it won't save them. Even after saving the config changes, if the laptop goes to sleep, the settings are lost on wakeup. They are also lost after a restart......now I've given up and just let it default back to the factory colours each time, I've wasted too much time trying. Honestly, otherwise the laptop is exactly what I need and has great graphics & audio, which is ideal for my post production film editing work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fast laptop with weaknesses The laptop is very powerful but there are some important drawbacks to it. I purchased it for video editing, not for gaming so I look at it only from an editor/compositor perspective. First of all the keyboard is very low quality with an overall very bad feel. The keys feel like they will break and you can't press them without them feeling (and sometimes sounding) creaky. The spacebar has dipped on its left side from the very first days. Then, the main display is not driven by the Nvidia card, but by Intel HD graphics. The Nvidia card is utilised for CUDA rendering in the Adobe suite and in the (up to 3) external monitors when connected, but when using Resolume Avenue I get a black screen and had to roll back to some older drivers. After Googling around I found out that they do this for better battery performance. If someone can tell me how to deactivate the Intel card for the main display and have only the Nvidia, I'll be delighted! Finally, you'd think the responsiveness of Windows would be fantastic with an M2 dive, but it isn't. My guess is that the second 1TB HDD is so slow that is dragging the whole system down. When I open a Windows Explorer window, there is a massive delay, as if I was using a 5200rpm drive, which is exactly what the second drive is. The good news is that its rendering times are super fast and overall performance in the Adobe suite is very good, but you most definitely need 32GB to handle 4K material. I also used it on a live performance with Resolume Arena, running three monitors without problems, other than having to roll back to older drivers so Resolume would work.
