Can the legs be folded the other way, not the way it is presented (around the center column), but the normal way, with the center column fully retracted? I have a Manfrotto 410 gear head, which I'd like to keep it attached all the time, and the tripod folded the normal way.
Asked by: Victor
If the column is pulled all the way up, you can fold the legs down on the GIGT2545T so it can be stored with your Manfrotto 410 head attached.

What is the short tube (approx 3") for that comes with this tripod? No instructions.
Asked by: Teresa
The GIGT2525T Traveler Series 2 carbon fiber tripod comes with a short column that you could use in addition to the existing column to raise the camera higher or in place of the existing column to allow you to get closer to the ground.

Would this tripod be suitable for a Sony A1 with 200-600 lens? what head would be recommended? I f not suitable - what?
Asked by: Bill
This is a fantastic choice for that combination. Options for a head depend on your usage. If you are doing wildlife or sports photography consider looking at Gimbal heads such as the Wimberly or the Oben. I would suggest you call or chat with one of our agents to better recommend a head for your specific needs.

When the legs are folded (and no ball head, what is the circumference at the fattest point? I'm trying to compare it to the same measurement for the GIGT1545T so I have a feel for how much room it will take up in my travel bag. Thanks.
Asked by: Mark
Its widest point is the top of the first twist lock, roughly a width (lock to lock, like an equilateral triangle) of 106.13mm using my calipers. Calculating for outer linear dimensions, that makes it 318.39mm / 12.5". If considering its diameter, it's 96.79mm at the same closest lateral point, which puts its circumference at roughly 304.07mm / 11.97".

How does the GIGT2545T differ from the GT2545T? Only difference I can see is the GT2545T comes with a ball head.
Asked by: Charles
That is a tech question that should be directed to a Gitzo representative. I only purchased a Traveller 2 with a large video head for birding. Mine works fine, but beware the rubber feet can come unscrewed on their own and become lost with no warning. Applying some lock tight would prevent this.
