Works as advertised. I'm a night owl and like to watch TV late into the evening, so these saved my marriage.

Have tried various systems over the years to improve my ability to hear TV dialog. This system has worked the best; easy to use, sound quality is excellent, and comfortable to wear.

Works with computer as well

First thing: You need to increase the volume on the input (TV or computer) to at least 50% in the base and then you can reduce the volume at the receiver. If you keep the volume low from the computer then you would hear the compression making a hissing noise or cutting to low frequency (like violins and cello) cutting off. Increasing the volume on the input is the way to use this device. it is also mentioned in the manual as well. This is nothing wrong with the system. It just needs the energy to pass its low pass filer. 1. The audio compression and sound profiles are good but I dont use them. Good that you can disable them. There are three sound profiles and the you can turn the selected one on-off from the remote. but you need to go to the base to select the sound profile. I keep mine off (unfiltered) and it is pretty good. 2. According to the manual you can pair three additional remotes to the same base so that you can have 4 remote headphones in total. 3. This is better than any other bluetooth solution. Plus it lets you use your favorite headset. 4. Works even if you are not in the direct line of sight of the base station. 5. Will cause magnetic interference with a microphone if it is close to the base station. 6. The remote lasts 12 hours on full charge (according to the manual). It will not work if it is on the base station and charging. It will only work if it is lifted off the base station.

Love It.  Highly Recommend To Hear TV Dialogue Clearly

If you have any trouble clearly understanding dialogue when there is distracting tv program background noise/music, this is the system for you. Also helpful to us when watching British TV shows. Transmitter (shown long device) has one power cable with adapters for US, European, and other electrical systems; has audio connector for connection either to analog TV or home theater sound output or to digital optical output (apparently you need to set your TV digital audio output to PCM signal for digital audio to work). I am using analog headphone jack on my home theater receiver. Smaller shown device is the receiver. It has a 3.5mm input where you can basically plug-in any earphone or headphone with the proper male adapter. It can clip on to your clothing or sit in you lap or shirt pocket. It charges by dropping it into the cradle on the transmitter when not in use. Full charge in 3 hours, info says lasts up to 12 hours (we use for 2-4 hours at a time and no problems). I can be anywhere in our single story house and clearly hear the TV when using the receiver. Receiver has button on side which you push and release to activate program background noise/music reduction . Push it again to deactivate. If you push and hold the button it turns the receiver off when you are done. The two raised areas on the front of the shown receiver are the volume controls. The top raised area turns the receiver on when pushed and held until the green light below the raised area comes on, and it increases the volume each time you push and release. Lower raised area lowers the volume each time you push and release it. I bought a 2nd receiver (sold separately on B&H) so 2 people could use system at same time. Works great. The box includes one set of foam covered earphones. They work fine. Lessons learned - mute TV speakers when using with earphones. Not necessary to mute TV speakers if one you is wearing closed headphones while the other wants to listen to a program through the TV speakers. This is not an outside noise cancellation system. It only reduces TV program background noise/music and enhances dialogue. If you have screaming kids or barking dogs that is a problem this system won't resolve.

Outstanding Unit

I used to use a Bluetooth blaster to listen to what I was watching to avoid disturbing everyone else early in the morning. But the sound was tinny and often got interference. This unit is pricy, but the quality brings the value in my opinion. Outstanding so far. AND using quality earbuds makes it extremely comfortable.

Disappointed

As a retired media professional Sennheiser was the go-to brand for audio recording. Their microphones were excellent. When I bought this unit, I expected the same Sennheiser commitment to excellence. But I was mistaken. I works, but not as well as a cheap unit from Sharper Image that my wife bought me years ago. The one thing that I do like is the speech intelligibility function that dampens some background ambiance and music so you can better hear what is being said. All in all I'll give it a C (not the A+ I was expecting).

This lets me listen to the TV at a louder volume than my wife (who uses the speakers). Great for us folks with some hearing loss.

question

How does this work with hearing aid?
Asked by: FRANKLIN D.
The Flex Receiver outputs the audio signal to wired headphones, such as the included MX 475 Earphones, or an induction loop for use with a hearing aid. Please visit the Sennheiser website to see the detailed instruction manual that discusses connecting to an induction loop. Your hearing aid must be induction coil/loop (t-coil) compatible. can everyone else hear the t.v. while this is in use? if yes, is there a way to turn it so it goes only to the earphones?
Asked by: Pamela
Yes, they have separate volume controls. You would turn off the volume on the TV and still be able to listen through your headphones.
