    Kodak KEKTRA-SUB-USA-UN reviews

EKTRA 32GB Smartphone (Unlocked, Black) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great beater camera! My main camera is a 1DX MII and it is my true love but it is amazing to be utterly crippled in modern connectivity. I wanted something that can be spontaneous and easy for travel. Instead of a cell phone with a camera, this is a camera with a cell phone. This produces gorgeous quick and dirty spontaneous shots for facebook or instagram when you want to grab a quick shot out the window. Or I need to get a copy of the running order at a sports event to key my real shots to. I am not hooking up the cell carrier but it's fine by any wifi and it will bluetooth to my regular phone for uploading. This little thing is terrific for the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Affordable Camera Phone This camera phone is unexpectedly really good. The camera function is much better than Galaxy S7 edge. The picture quality is very clear. The user interface is comparable with Galaxy S7 edge; I just need to get used to it. The battery life is good too. The phone is a little thicker than my Galaxy S7 edge and the front lens is big and hard to protect. There is only screen protector but no lens protector. I couldn't get a good case for it that protects the frame as well. Overall, the camera phone is really good and much cheaper than most of the comparable smartphone. I bought this specifically just for the camera.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great cam phone i love it! Not just the above mentioned features , but the camera actually matches the near perfect color of the objects in the front, which is lacking in the regular cam phones.. it is as good as another DSLR in your palm. images are sharp and vibrant in color. What i would expect was good to have is more manual settings on the manual mode and little more battery performance. Gets warm when cam feature is kept on for long and/or multiple apps running i think. The tiny camera click button has a lag, instead the one on the screen button is faster. I'm still exploring it further.. but i love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Camera This is a great phone. The addition of an actual dslr and manual camera function is the perfect combination.the phone part is what you'd expect. But the camera is better than anything on the market. Don't waste any more money on a Galaxy or an iPhone if you want great pictures and video. It's half the price and has more than twice the resolution. Great editing apps and options. I like that you can order prints directly from Kodak through your phone. I like it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All I expected it would be More of a camera with a smart phone than most now are smart phones with a camera added. Camera controls are more functional than a typical cell phone. Button lockout is nice. Most cell phones by the time you find the zoom or other settings you tap the home key and the camera goes away, plus a real button that works as a real camera button is nice too. Picture quality is very good for the price. A very top line cell phone might better it but it also costs four times as much so it should. The camera really shines if you take the time to fiddle with the controls and not just use AUTO all the time. As far as the cell phone side is concerned it is not the latest Android version so they cut a few corners. But it is a decent cell phone too. It comes with a good size memory 32 GB and can take a 128 GB SD card too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality camera/smart phone with great specs. This camera/phone is wonderful! I bought it because my Sony Z1s had slowed down considerably. I wanted something with similar specs (21 mp) that also did 4K video and allows for expansion with microsd cards. I'm currently using it for photo blogging and other creative and general business applications. It is hard to beat this for the price and quality. The leather case is also beautiful but a bit bulky for around town usage. The glass screen protector is also a very nice touch. Wish they would upgrade from Android 6 to 7 but you can't have everything... Great product overall!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The $119 price makes it worth it The phone is a great value for the price. The leather case is a work of art! I was expecting better quality from a 21megapixel camera but my iPhone 8 camera overall is much better. What’s nice about the Kodak phone is that you have full control over the camera settings like any pro has on his or her professional equipment. Or keep it in full auto mode or anything inbetween. But for $119, grab it. BTW, the case has to be removed in order to charge the phone. I really don’t know why they overlooked this convenience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I bought this item for the camera, not the phone.... I am a dedicated iPhone user who is also a pro photog. I use it a lot, and am constantly having to move images off from it to make space for new ones. So when I saw this camera phone on sale, I figured "What the heck"? and ordered it. I am glad that I did. The actual Kodak camera app is great, and gives the feel of a DSLR or advanced Mirrorless camera, and allows me to write RAW files to a SD card (I recommend going big if you shoot a lot of images -- I use 128 gb). It performs well in low-light if you know what you are doing, and the editing apps that come with it are good, too. I happen to have my favorites that can be downloaded from both the Apple store for my IOS devices, and from Google Play for Android and have done so on this camera phone. I read other reviews that criticize the screen resolution, however I don't find that its any different than my other Android devices (tablets) and it's not an issue for me when taking and editing images and video. It's not a high-end iPhone or Samsung, and I didn't expect it to have an OLED screen, so I am not at all disappointed. Like my header to this review says, I bought this device for the camera, and as a backup phone should I ever drop mine again and watch it sink to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean (like I did with my iPhone 6Plus). It's a nice device with a nice camera that's easy to use in it's auto setting, or in more advanced manual settings. One thing I have always liked about Android and Windows phones is the ability to add physical memory to the device. Apple doesn't offer SD card storage, and since I shoot a lot of pics, this is important to me. I haven't found the 32 gb resident memory on the Kodak to be at all limited since I have added a 128 gb SD card to it. I'm also not seeing a huge difference in image quality between this Kodak camera and the iPhone, expect the size of the files in RAW are much larger, and therefore much easier to crop and enlarge. I ran a digital imaging lab at a museum for many years, and know how important resolution is, and how important the lens that goes in front of the sensor is in terms of quality, ability to allow light through and in sharpness. I don't focus solely on megapixels, and also look at issues such as dynamic range, etc. I am really impressed with this device, and didn't give it 5 stars because I am not using it as a phone. I don't know how it performs in the cellular department, however I can speak to the camera functions and ease of use issues. The buttons, controls, etc. are all very user-friendly. My only complaint is that lovely leather case not having a hole for the USB-C charging cable. I have to remove it to charge the phone. It's a nice case, otherwise even if it is also a bit bulky. This device makes a nice second camera, and and I'd feel confident even using it as my primary camera phone based on my experiences so far. I hope this helps those who are still on the fence about buying it. It's an easy return if you aren't satisfied, and B&H has always provided me with great service in the 20 years I've been using them.
