A standard telephoto prime designed for close-up applications, the XCD 120mm f/3.5 Macro Lens from Hasselblad is a 95mm equivalent macro lens dedicated to the medium format mirrorless X system. This macro lens offers a 1:2 maximum magnification along with a minimum focusing distance of 1.4' to suit photographing close subjects, and a floating elements system maintains image clarity and sharpness throughout the focusing range. Like other XCD lenses, the 120mm f/3.5 Macro has an integrated Central Lens Shutter that is capable of shutter speeds up to 1/2000 sec with flash sync at all speeds, and its internal autofocus design can be manually overridden for precise manual focusing control.

Hasselblad XCD 120mm f/3.5 Macro Reviews
Lens Perform Excellently
After hearing some of the early critical reviews and some of the later complementary reviews i decided to buy the lens. Both my camera and lens firmware are up to date at 1.4.0 and 0.6.0. The camera focuses quickly enough to capture insects. Very satisfied
With just a few days, I'm really impressed with this lens
I was torn between the zoom lens or the 30mm lens to continue to add to my X1D II toolkit. Despite the reviews, all early and with the first X1D, I took a chance. I haven't used a macro lens in quite a few years, so it will take a little adjustment time. However, just in shooting around the house, and a church, I am quite impressed with the Depth of Field, and color reproduction.
Where do companies get off releasing products like this???? Autofocus? Yes it has continuous autofocus meaning it never stops!!! Just Hunts. After the third go around you will most likely switch to manual focus. Totally useless and frustrating. Don’t by any means think this is going to double as a portrait lens. This has an extremely difficult time focusing on a still object.
Heavy Lens very slow to focus.
The lens failed for me after less than 100 shots, factory repaired it. Too slow to focus and it searches blindly for the focal point. Works in manual.
I bought this lens a few months back and it stopped working(focusing motor making noise and not focusing). After receiving a different replacement lens from Hasselblad the very same thing happened after a day of using! The sad thing is that for the brief time it worked the lens sharpness and resolution was amazing. This is unacceptable and not to what I expect from a professional lens or manufacturer such as Hasselblad. It is obviously from my own experience and other users that this lens has too many issues to be released as of yet-Hasselblad needs to step up their QC!!!!!
Three days of shooting. Sharp! Quiet leaf shutter compared to the other three. On “Full” Focus often slow to focus. Reminds me of the canon 85mm 1.2. No issues with attaching or releasing the lens from the body. Heavy yes but compact no complaints. A joy.
Super Lens - Very Happy to Have Purchased
I have been using this lens for photos of flowers. It is a super lens in terms of sharpness, ease of focusing, and overall handling. I debated long about buying it given other reviews raising problems. I have had none of these problems. Autofocus works fine. It is as easy to mount on the body as other large lenses (especially not trying to do so with the lens hood on and reversed).
Does a remarkable job on both Macro and normal photography
I wanted to add the macro lens to my complement of XCD lenses. This one doesn't disappoint. I've only used it for a relatively few short days, but have tested some product photos of watches, flowers, cat photos, and some interesting cityscape sunset photos. I'm looking forward to an upcoming visit to Longwood Gardens to fully test the macro capabilities.
