Brother HL-L8360CDW reviews

HL-L8360CDW Color Laser Printer is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 49.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from No Duplex on a Mac While the printing is fine and the new larger capacity toner cartridges are a welcome change—along with longer lives for the other consumable parts, I am very disappointed with the printer as connected to my Mac. For the life of me, I cannot get the printer to do duplex. It works fine from my Surface and even iPhone and iPad—but not the Mac. I have set duplex as the default on and off—no difference. I have no idea where I should go for help on this. Web searches return lots of results on how to enable through the Mac interface. Even tried to update the driver. Also, the handling of envelopes is totally different from the previous version of this printer the 8200 series. Not happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An amiable printer I bought this printer because my new computer did not have a sluggish USB 2 connection, which the old printer needed. I found the wi-fi connection a vast improvement, because I had grown to accept but dislike the tangle of connections under and behind my desk, but also was enchanted by the brisk printing, the capacious storage for blank paper, and the excellent color vaues of this printer. I even prefer the curious sequence of (very quiet) noises it makes as it prepares for and delivers its prints. I am, however, still confused by duplex printing, but no doubt I will sort it out if I spend enough time with the manual.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Printer! I was the technology director for a school district for many years and I bought Brother printers on several occasion. I have always appreciated Brother printers' performance and reliability. This new color printer is for my personal use in my home office. I am extremely happy with its performance so far. The printer was very easy to install on my home network. The only slight issue is that there is some paper curl when printing single sided output. Double sided print does not curl the paper. I have tried correcting this in the driver features without success. However, I consider this a minor issue. I am looking forward to several years of service with this printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Printer I bought this printer back in November 2017 but wound up having surgery and didn’t get it going until two or three weeks ago. The video on removing the tape holding all of the parts in place for shipping was helpful. The installation CD was pretty worthless probably because I prefer to use Windows 7, but I just went to the Brothers site and downloaded the right drivers and I was in business. Once I had the desktop going and the printer on, the laptop connected wirelessly when I ran the driver. I’m happy with the speed of warmup and the pages print quickly. The print quality is excellent. Overall, it is a good price at a very fair price. I haven’t tried printing from my iPad or iPhone yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Color Laser Printer I wanted a quality color laser printer for home use. This one might be a little overkill for home use but I’m still happy I bought it. I looked at others in the Brother family but decided in favor of this one because it includes standard capacity toner cartridges rather than smaller introductory ones. Print quality is terrific. (You have to understand that a laser printer does not mix toner like an ink printer can blend ink to make pictures near photo quality) The disc made setup with Windows 10 easy, AirPrint works flawlessly, and I have not found a single issue that displeases me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Really nice printer to startr This is my SECOND Brother Laser printer. The first, a HL-3170CDW, lasted about 1.5 years, including, of course MANY toner changes, and all drum replacements, as well. I expected this printer to AT LEAST last as long as a good inkjet printer, at least a couple of years. But, alas, no. So, hopefully not foolishly, I upgraded to the next eschalon of Brother printers, and, so far, so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Everything I Wanted, and More. Setup went far more easily than I had expected; it even connected to our wireless LAN without a hitch. The printer works wonderfully; it even handled without difficulty some sheets of membership cards on very heavy cardstock that had jammed in both of our other two printers. And it's very quiet! It sits right next to my desk, and I can be on the phone while it's printing and still hear everything clearly. I am very happy with this printer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid performance at a great price I run a small networked office and needed to replace our Epson Work Force series inkjet printer, having failed after only two years of regular use: clogged ink nozzles and an unreliable automatic document feeder. I have loyally purchased Epsons over the years but after the latest experience, I scouring the web reading dozens of printer reviews and settled on the Brother HL-L8360CDW color laser printer. At circa 52 lbs, this printer is no lightweight but its footprint is about the same as the Epson. I unpacked the printer and carefully followed the setup instructions removing safety tape and assorted plastic bits. Our office is Mac-centric and the printer came with a superfluous CD containing driver software. I just went to Brother's website, downloaded the latest driver for my OS and I was off to the races. Connectivity was a breeze with my desktops, MacBooks and iOS devices. (PS The CD makes a fun drink coaster.) Now to the important stuff: printing. Firstly, it's very quiet compared to the racket I was used to with my old inkjet. Print speeds are exactly as advertised and color quality is superb. No bleed or streaking, just crisp and clear. This printer just runs and runs without a hiccup and makes me question why I ever bothered with fussy inkjet printers. Quibbles? You get that slight laser-printer odor as it spits out print jobs, but the smell quickly dissipates. There is slight paper curl but not enough to bother me. The ink cartridges ain't cheap but the true cost per page is very low if you buy the high-capacity versions. In sum, the Brother is a well-made, cost-effective printer that does what it's designed for without skipping a beat.
