If I add the optional paper tray and print from ...

If I add the optional paper tray and print from Adobe Pro, will the printer automatically choose the correct paper size from mixed originals? i.e. The packet I need to print has both letter and legal sized pages, and I need to know if they will print correctly without me having to sort them out.
Asked by: Meli
Yes! Just make sure not to set paper settings to "fit to page" this will shrink the legal pages to letter size. You'll have to play around with other settings as well to "auto select" paper tray & so on.... It definitely needs some configuration.

Can you place a stack of pages in the tray and have them all scanned to the same file?
Asked by: Leon
Yes. On the topic us th ADF (Automatic Document Feeder). Place there I think upto 50 standard sized pages without staples order adhesive and it'll scan to individual JPG PDF etc files formats upto 600dpi. PDF can be singles files containing all the pages. Pages are placed with first scan side on the top.

question

Can this printer receive fax file in PDF form?
Asked by: Anonymous
Typically, this would be a scan-to-email feature. For this question, the sender would, one, need a machine that is capable of scanning to email (most MFPs over the past 15 years or more) and, two, obviously your email. Receiving a fax'd document as a PDF file would seem redundant, duplicating efforts, highly inefficient. Fyi, over the past 15-20 years, fax usage has decreased substantially with the ability of even these cheaper machines to scan-to-email. In national accounts for a major competitor, even a majority of the government agencies (the most inefficient with regards to document distribution, etc) would use scan-to-email, with fax machines collecting dust.

Can you use the MFC-L8900CDW using only a wired LAN and without setting up wireless access?
Asked by: Jonathan
Yes. As a WIRED LAN (means that WIRE connects router and printer, not computer and printer). It is a wonderful printer and does a lot. WIRELESS is also great option and even very big scans (many MB in size) come thru normally. With LAN they'll come in faster as the WIRELESS uses 2.4GHz, not the speedy 5GHz.
