Garmin Forerunner 935 overview

  • 1Description

Get comprehensive sport statistics and customized training feedback with the black and yellow Forerunner 935 Tri Bundle from Garmin. The Forerunner 935 is an advanced, multi-sport watch designed with runners and triathletes in mind. It offers several rich data points key to improving your athletic performance and fine-tuning your training regimen, including cadence, stride length, VO2 max, and more. The Forerunner 935 also offers real-time heart rate data, which will help you shape your training routine, and gives you feedback about performance and heart health.

In addition to its multi-sport functionality, the Forerunner 935 also works as an everyday wellness and activity tracker. It counts your steps and calories burned, monitors your sleep quality, and will cue you to move when you've been sitting too long.

The Forerunner 935 enables you to share all your activity data and monitor your progress at Garmin Connect. Garmin Connect is Garmin's free online community where you can plan, save, and share your activities. Download the Garmin Connect Mobile application to your compatible smartphone and all your activity data can be automatically uploaded from your Forerunner 935 to Garmin Connect.

The Forerunner 935's rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasts up to 24 hours in full training mode (using GPS-tracking and optical HR) and up to 2 weeks in watch mode (including activity tracking, smart notifications, and heart rate monitoring). It can store up to 64MB of activity data, so even if you can't sync right away, you won't lose any important information. Additionally, the Forerunner 935 is designed to withstand water pressures equivalent to a depth of 164' and can be used in both pool and open swimming, so you train with it practically anywhere.

The tri bundle includes both a HRM-Tri and HRM-Swim heart rate monitor. Both of these monitors pair with your Forerunner and enable you to track even more heart rate data on land and in the water. The HRM-Tri is suitable for open water and on-land racing, while the HRM-Swim is the more appropriate device for pool swimming, where a non-slip device is required. The HRM-Tri also offers run dynamics monitoring, so you can track your running efficiency and get real-time feedback while you race. Both devices store up to 20 hours of activity data and will automatically sync with compatible devices to upload your data.

Run, Sprint, Swim, Bike, Tri
The Forerunner 935 lets you change things up thanks to built-in activity profiles for running (indoor/outdoor), cycling (indoor/outdoor), swimming (pool/open water), cross-country skiing, paddle sports, trail running, hiking, strength training, and many more. For brick workouts and du/triathlon races, the auto multi-sport feature lets you switch sports with just one button press. The 935 is compatible with advanced workouts for running, cycling, and swimming.
Monitor Your Performance, Training, and Recovery
Forerunner 935 will help you monitor your training and recovery, so you can better prepare for a race or training cycle. Training status is a performance monitoring tool that automatically evaluates your recent exercise history and performance indicators to let you know if you're training productively, peaking, or overreaching. The anaerobic training effect metric opens a window of critical insight to your training, telling you how your training is improving your ability to push the limits. You can even view your overall training load, which measures your exercise volume from the last 7 days and compares it to the optimal range for your fitness and recent training history.

    Garmin Forerunner 935 reviews

Forerunner 935 Sport Watch Tri Bundle (Black/Yellow) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic multisport watch This is so much more than a watch. The tri bundle pairing provides excellent metrics on run, bike, and swim, including analyses of running gait, as well as training effects and measures of training load. It syncs seamlessly with Garmin connect app and with Trainingpeaks. I’ve learned so much about my exercise and day to day metrics such as resting heart rate and sleep since I started wearing this watch. Recommended to wear constantly for best feedback. Battery life is excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch for triathlons, other sports, and everyday use! I use this watch for triathlon training, and also as an activity monitor during the day at the office. I was upgrading from a Garmin 910XT. The battery life on this watch is excellent. I have been wearing it for almost two weeks and using it roughly every other day in swimming, biking, or running workouts, and it still has about 20% charge remaining. That's incredible, and it's also significantly thinner than my old 910XT. I wasn't sure I would like the buttons on the side as much as the face-mounted buttons on the 910XT, but they seem to easy enough to press. I've only had one occasion where I inadvertently pressed the opposite-side button with my thumb while trying to press the START/STOP button. The different watch faces and other plug-ins you can download for free are quite good. I keep a classic Swiss Army-style watch face on mine, and unlike an Apple watch, it's visible all the time except in complete darkness, and you can just press a button to light it up if needed. The watch also connects with my iPhone and keeps me up-to-date with calendar reminders, text messages, etc. The watch connects to WiFi and uses the known WiFi signal to help identify common locations instantly, so the GPS initializes much more quickly than my old 910XT when I'm starting off from home (which is usually the case). Upon returning home after my workout, it instantly connects with Garmin Connect and uploads the data automatically - no need to sync manually. The built-in heart rate monitor seems to work well for activity monitoring, although I have been using the chest straps for my workouts as I'm interested in the other data they give. My only minor gripe is the wrist band is a little difficult to fasten quickly, but it certainly stays put and is quite comfortable. Highly recommended.
