  • 1Description

Comprising everything needed to begin taking instant film photos, the Fujifilm instax Mini 50S Instant Film Camera with instax mini Black Pack of Film Kit from B&H pairs the versatile instant camera with a 10-sheet pack of black-bordered instax mini instant film.

  • Fujifilm instax mini 50S Instant Print Camera (Piano Black)

Fujifilm's instax mini 50S Instant Print Camera (Piano Black) brings a party along with it--the mini 50S takes a picture and gives you a 2.4 x 1.8" (62 x 46mm) color print right away, using Fujifilm instax mini instant film. This sleek piano-black camera adjusts the shutter speed automatically between 1/3 and 1/400 second to give you great results, even in low light. The built-in flash balances automatically with the background light for pleasing photos, and the self-timer lets you take two shots with a single touch of the shutter button. A close-up function focuses to as close as 11.8" (30 cm) from the lens, for 2:1 magnification ratio. Three shooting modes (Auto, Fill-in Flash, and Landscape) are available. A Light/Dark function gives you +/- 2/3 f-stop compensation. Power is provided by two CR2 batteries.

Self-Timer mode allows you to create two photos with the single press of the shutter. Enjoy instant photos with friends or that special person in your life.
The high-performance flash mode automatically calculates surrounding brightness and adjusts shutter speed accordingly--excellent for photos at parties with subdued lighting and other low-light scenes.
The close-up lens allows you to shoot from a distance up to 1' (30 cm) away so you can take great photos of beautifully arranged and colorful party food, cakes, etc.
With instant prints, you can write your own personal message directly below the photo image.

    Fujifilm mini 50S reviews

instax mini 50S Instant Print Camera (Piano Black) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 98.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Instant Fun! Purchased this for my 17 year old daughter - at her request. The fun is all about the experience. Take a pic, grab the film and shortly after you have a good picture to look at and to share. This solves the problem of forgetting to print, or even how to keep memories tangibly alive for years. Digital photos sometimes get lost in the massive amount of files, this creates an immediate and lasting impact. The pictures are not perfect photo quality, but I think that is also some of the positive experience. You get a picture that is real, captures the moment quickly, and immediately looks historic. I would love never to buy film that is a bit pricy, but I think it is worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute and fun! I'm a big scrapbooker and bought the Instax 50s to get instant shots to spice up my creative work and i LOVE it! It's easy to use and provides small prints that are amazingly clear and good quality. My only gripe is that the macro lens does not work at all and when taking shots at the suggested 30cm distance from the object, what comes out on the pic is tiny and definitely NOT macro. Any closer than 30cm, the outcome is blurry and out of focus. The price of film does add up quickly so you have to be exact on what you're trying to capture or you'll be wasting about $1 per shot! Other that that, I'm a happy camper with this camera! =)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reviving my Childhood I receive this item yesterday just in time for Memorial Day weekend. Had a mishap of dropping this and having the batteries pop out and the round piece where the photos exit fall off so BE CAREFUL. Lost a few shots too because the fiance and I still couldn't remember which button was the shutter button. All in all I have been happy with this camera. Amazing that people are wicked shocked to see instants these days. PROS: - Small, slick, and lightweight - Film size/ color - Easy to use = There's a strap CONS: - Film size goes here too! It is extra small so you need to think about good uses for small pics (not the zoo) - Need a case for safety!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic all-rounder instant camera I have found this instant camera very easy to use. It is light and not a hassle to take around. I have found myself having to get used to and understand the lighting techniques to achieve a well balanced photo, but that does not really have anything to do with the quality of the product really. It would be great though, if it had a real time viewer so that you could see what you were capturing and what the lighting was like. Nonetheless, for what it is, I find it a great little instant camera that produces some really nice photos. Take in mind that the images are not of the quality of let's say a $4000 DSLR camera. It is a fun camera and great if (like myself) you like creating photo diaries/albums.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much improved and well-refined. The first thing I noticed about the 50S is the viewfinder- with earlier versions of this rangefinder camera, you ran the risk of cutting off people's heads, or accidentally cropping your frame. Not so much with the 50S- you pretty much see exactly what you are getting- which is what you want when there is a cost assigned to every shot. I like the improvements in the body as well, it feels a lot more solid(like a camera should) and less of a toy when I'm shooting with it. I could be wrong, but the optics on this model seemed to have improved as well. Skin tones are flattering, and details- for what they are, are certainly sharp enough. In addition to my own, I recently gifted this to a 13 year old on her birthday, and I'll be dammed if she and her friends did not snap 100 fun photos and have a great time to boot. If I did not know any better, I could swear we were shooting a commercial for the Instax. Kudos to Fuji for keeping the instant photo phenomenon alive. I hope they never stop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality and Great Fun! The fact is digital photography leaves me rather cold and sterile. I have owned most instant and 35mm film cameras you can name. When I discovered this one I was ecstatic. It is not only lots of fun but great quality as well. The pictures are small but very sharp (as long you pay attention to camera to subject distance.) There is also a close up lens for flowers etc (again pay attention to distance). When taking pictures it's best to get as close as you can without violating the minimum camera to subject distance. If you have ever studied the rules of composition and lighting technique then you know a good photograph is not dependent on the price of the camera or the type of lens used. Great pictures are taken every day with cheap cameras and lenses. Try to keep the film reasonably cool, don't mash on the film pack and don't run it through airport xrays. Naturally if you open the camera before all the exposures are used the remaining frames will be ruined. Fujicolor camera's and film are superior to Polariod brand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from fun little camera This was a for fun purchase. It is what it is...a polaroid, so I wasn't expecting the dSLR quality I'm used to:) Indoor shots are not the greatest. I can't turn off the flash, and this results in over exposed faces, that deer-caught-in-the-headlights look. My solution was to cut a piece of gallon milk jug plastic and glue it down using two tiny glue dots (dry adhesive), right over the flash. This results in softer light. I also wish that this model would be offered in the more retro white like the 25.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good old analogue fun! Great little camera that I carry everywhere with me... Real fun to use, and the look on people's faces when they see the little picture pop out is priceless!! A great social camera, people love to have their photo taken, and can be used to create fun art projects too! A lot cheaper to use than an old Polaroid (10 exp cost around $22, where as Instax 20 exposures cost around $13. This model has a timer on it as opposed to the 25s which has the small mirror on the front that allows you to better take self portraits... Two negatives:1) Why remove the mirror on this model?2) It would be useful to be able to turn off the flash.Other than that, thoroughly recommend this great little camera.
