Kopul CMX-2-V2 Reviews

Connections work fine but tripod mount is not deep enough

The bottom tripod threads aren't deep enough for any of the 3 tripod plates that I tested. I ended up using gorilla tape layered to the bottom of this product to pad against washers I found to finally get a snug fit. It took more time than I thought to jury rig it up.

Needs a little bit of refining

So we are using this with a mirrorless pluged into AC power. Had a terrible ground loop buzz. Flipped the ground switch and it disappeared. I wish that was noted better on the unit. The way I read it was it was going to grab ground from either input 1 or input 2. both of my inputs are connected to my sound board (L &R) so when i initally got the buzz i didn't think the switch would make a difference, but I'm glad the issue is fixed. Kopul just document that better. Also the 1/4 threaded socket for tripod mount is stupid. Others have meantioned that it is not deep enough to be useful. I'm getting a 3D printed washer for lack of a better term to cover the surface area of the mount plate so it sits rigid on my tripod. But seriously i shouldn't need to. just provide a socket deep enough. Everything else I love. It's not powered, which keeps my setup a little more simple. Easy controls. Headphone out to monitor the feed would be nice but it's a $50 unit. Kopul come out with a $75 unit with headphone out and the right depth socket and it will go gangbusters ;)

Great to add external audio

I didn't know this product even exist, thank you B&H rep for suggesting this device otherwise I would have expended more money training to find a solution. It works as expected at first got a little scared as the noise was coming on in my audio but a little flip to the GND 1/GND2. I guess reading the instructions sometimes is recommended

The tripod connection on the bottom of this unit is so shallow, I can't screw in either a tripod or a handle far enough to use.

This unit solves the problem of getting powered xlr audio into dslr or atomos recorder. no phantom power. no power involved at all w this baby. If your levels are low, this guy won't boost them. also the cable is a little lightweight and will probably not last long in real use. works at most basic level tho.

small compact for my sonycam.

I need an Item compact but also that looks great on my cam rig, since my old HD sony cam lacks XLR inputs this is a great add on to my rig instead of the old big box type adapter. love it

Works as it should. I had one but added this one as i didn't want to keep unplugging my existing one when I needed to set up another station. It's pass through so I plug in my Rode Caster Pro and this to run audio into my camera. It works well.

What is the impedance on the input and output? Is it transformer isolated?
Asked by: Sam
The input and output impedances are not listed. These would typically be high impedance on the input and high impedance on the output. ( probably 10 kohm in and <1kohm on out ). There is no transformers in this device.
