Ideally suited for architectural, landscape, and interior photography, this wide-angle prime lens offers an 18mm equivalent focal length.
The 15 elements in 12 groups optical design incorporates a pair of aspherical elements to reduce spherical aberrations and distortions for cleaner, more realistic rendering and sharper image quality.
Two extra-low dispersion elements and one Super ED element are also featured to control color fringing and chromatic aberrations for improved color fidelity and clarity.
A Nano GI coating has been applied to individual elements to suppress surface reflections, flare, and ghosting for improved contrast and color accuracy when working in strong lighting conditions.
A linear AF motor is used for quick, quiet focusing performance and an internal focusing mechanism maintains the overall length of the lens during operation and also produces consistent optical performance throughout the focusing range.
Physical aperture ring allows for intuitive adjustment over exposure settings, and incorporates a C (Command) position to permit camera-based aperture setting.
Dust- and weather-sealed physical construction enables working in harsh climates and temperatures as low as 14°F.
Rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

FUJIFILM GF 23mm f/4 R LM WR Reviews

Awesome lens!

This lens is big and heavy because it's well built and has quality glass in it, if you're worried about size and weight, stop whining and go to the gym or use a point and shoot. It's expensive but you get what you pay for.

I bought this lens to replace my Laowa 17mm for GFX mount as I wanted the weather sealing and AF capability. I have been using this lens extensively for my abandoned buildings projects in Georgia and Pennsylvania and my publisher loved the quality of the images that we put into my first book. I have this lens paired with my GFX 50R and it is a stellar combination, I am hoping to eventually upgrade to the GFX 100S and I can just imagine how amazing the images would be with 102MP!

Sharper than you think

I found this wide angle lens can out do my kit zoom lens at 33mm even up to 50mm. Although the pixels are less per angle of view degrees, the pixel edges are hit the mark on separating detail. Really an amazing feature.

Sharpness all around and top-notch construction using grade A materials. The GFX 100S loves this lens. The manual aperture adjustment ring has perfect tension and the focus ring feels dreamy. Filter rings are a breeze to spin on and off. Love it.

I've owned this lens for about a year and have been in love with it since day 1. It really is the prefect wide angle for landscape. It was great with the 50R and is now a perfect fir on the 100s. I will keep this lens forever.

Superb Low-angle Landscape Lens

When you want to apply a wide angle to landscape - which can make a very nice shot - this lens is fantastic. I took the shot of Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland planning to highlight the hexagonal rocks in the foreground. This lens allowed me to get rocks all the way to the horizon, plus some ocean blur and a good amount of sky. I have this shot in a 24x18 print and the detail and depth of field are incredible. (It was a 30-second exposure at f/29 with a polarizer.) I was able to take a number of nice shots, and the lens is easy to work with, but the quality of the shot is what matters most, and this lens was awesome.

Does this vignette when using an 82-77 step down ring and the Formatt Hitech Firecrest 85mm square filters (with the new style holder)?
Asked by: Jake
Yes, the step-down ring 82-77mm will create vignetting on the FUJIFILM GF 23mm f/4 R LM WR Lens which is equivalent to the angle of view of an 18mm lens (35mm). The vignette will increment if a square filter holder system is attached in front of the lens.
