Core SWX Fleet Micro Overview

Featuring four independent charge bays, the Core SWX Fleet Micro 3A Digital Quad Charger for V-Mount Batteries is capable of simultaneously charging four batteries at 3A each. This means that four 98Wh batteries can be charged in under 2.5 hours. The on-board LCD display screen allows you to easily monitor your battery's smart battery data without needing to connect to a computer. The micro-USB connector allows for firmware updates and for connection to a computer.

The built-in Battery Management Test mode allows the charger to determine battery health and recharge performance. Activating the SafeFly mode forces the charger to discharge or charge connected batteries to a 30% charge level to meet air travel and shipping requirements. While plugged into an AC power source the Fleet Micro 3A Quad Charger can either charge batteries or be used as a camera power supply via the built-in 4-pin XLR. In the absence of AC power, you can use the charger to feed the 4-pin XLR from connected batteries providing unregulated power. The housing is made of aluminum, providing for a robust build.

Great charger with a couple of notable quirks

Overall a great charger, will charge most gold mount batteries. The ones I've tested are Anton Bauer Titon 150, HC and HCX, G150, Dionic 90, and Watson 150. And of course Core SWX batteries. With many batteries including some Anton Bauer batteries, it will display useful information about the batteries which is nice. A couple of notes: -If you have any issues mounting an Anton battery, you may need to slightly bend one or both of the charging pins upward. Be very careful and gentle and proceed at your own risk. If this doesn't work contact Core SWX support and they will help. -When the charger is unplugged or turned off with batteries on the charger, the charger prompts you on the screen to switch to power supply mode. The charger's computer and display will continue to slowly discharge the battery. So you have to take the batteries off the charger when unplugged if not using in power supply mode. According to Core SWX there is not a way to disable this. I hope they will address this in future models. -On the display, the charging positions are numbered. However the status lights aren't numbered and the plates themselves are not numbered. I found the arrangement a little counterintuitive because I think it's not the same as the Anton Bauer chargers I'm accustomed to. You may want to number the lights and bays yourself for clarity. If the arrangement of the plates really bugs you, it's not too hard to take the charger apart and unplug the plates from the circuit board and plug them into the position you want. Then you could cover up the little pictures next to the status lights with a number label, and label the plates to correspond.

Unlike the Anton Bauer LP4 which picks the battery with most charge to send juice to first, this unit is truly simultaneous. Very happy with it!

A very useful charger. It charges fast enough so that I don't ever really have to worry about running out of batteries and the discharge option is useful when I'm traveling. Though, discharging the batteries does take some time.

Useless as a power supply. �Loud high pitched whine. �Charges with the same atrocious�noise and very slowly. �Charging a single battery took over 6 hours for a 150 brick.

We added these to our fleet of chargers due to the end of year promotional rate, and we have been very pleased. They charge simultaneously and the discharge feature is great for travel needs. We have made a switch from AB batteries and are also excited about the ability to update the firmware easily using the built in USB port.

Can the charger provide XLR power while charging from AC?

While drawing AC power, the Core SWX Fleet Micro 3A Digital Quad Charger for V-Mount Batteries (B&H# COFLEETQM4S) can either charge the batteries or provide power through the 4-pin XLR output. You can select your preferred option of those two using the selector switch on the back of the unit. Those two alternatives cannot both be used at the same time.
