Samsung 10 overview

  • 1Description

Take your work and entertainment with you on-the-go with the 10.6" Galaxy Book 10 Multi-Touch 2-in-1 Laptop from Samsung. Its 2-in-1 design lets you quickly change from typing in laptop mode to writing, drawing, and more in tablet mode using the included S-Pen stylus or even your fingers. Moreover, its 10.6" display features a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution and multi-touch capabilities, so you'll be able to utilize touch gestures and commands within Windows 10 to enhance its efficiency and accessibility.

Powered by a 1.0 GHz Intel Core m3-7Y30 dual-core processor and 4GB of RAM, it can handle multitasking and quickly accessing frequently used files and programs. For storing your photos, videos, and files, it's equipped with 64GB of eMMC storage. Connect to the Internet via 802.11ac Dual-Band Wi-Fi, which lets you connect to the 5 GHz band for faster speeds. Other integrated features include a webcam, a microphone, speakers, a 3.5mm mic and headphone combo jack, and a USB 3.1 Type-C port. The operating system installed is Windows 10 Home.

Seamlessly Connected
Connect your Samsung Book and Samsung smartphone to share files wirelessly, even without Wi-Fi. You'll also be able to receive and respond to notifications from third party and native apps.
More Ways to Do More
Swap from typing in laptop mode to tablet mode and use the included S-Pen or your fingers to take notes, doodle, and more.
Lightning Quick
The Galaxy Book 10 can last up to 9 hours of video playback on a single charge. Recharge it quickly thanks to Adaptive Fast Charging, which can recharge it fully in under three hours.
Expandable Memory
If the built-in storage isn't enough for you, you can install a microSDXC card up to 256GB to increase this system's capacity. It's also useful for quickly transferring files from mobile devices.

Windows 10 Home

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Cortana
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Laptop, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

    Samsung 10 reviews

    10.6" Galaxy Book 10 Multi-Touch 2-in-1 Notebook is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from GalaxyBook 10.6 64GB, great product... I have been using the Samsung Galaxy Book 10.6 64GB model, it is an excellent powerful product. I am a full-time IT consultant and have used the Galaxy Book on multiple occasions in place of my primary laptop. Performance is very good, including boot times. Unfortunately the drive space in the model I tested was too small and I was not able to install all of my usual tools on it. For someone who is looking for a very portable but powerful device, this is a good choice. The screen might be too small for prolonged use, but it is very clear and easy to read. This device is probably very well suited to a student, or someone who needs general office capabilities on the go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A lot of bang for the buck I was skeptical that this tablet could perform as well as a pricier Surface with what appears to be more bells and whistles. However, the Galaxy Book performed so well, I returned my Surface and ended up with a bargain. It handles multiple browser windows well. No performance slow down even when I use VPN. It's light weight and portable and the keyboard case that came with it is very functional. The only negative is not having any USB ports, but a C adapter fixes that problem. I use it all the time now. I even paired bluetooth headphones with it. Go buy it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3-in-1 Magic! Tablets, PCs, and mobile phones. There are so many devices on the market today that it can often be overwhelming for buyers to find exactly what they're looking for. I reviewed a device that tries to merge the laptop and tablet into one device: The Samsung Galaxy Book 10.6?? is a great device that I really enjoyed testing. Not only did the device come with a full keyboard and S Pen (which competing tablets charge extra for), but it's powerful as ever! I even made a video review of my experience here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5PEzD5Nsow

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good enough as a Tablet not enough as a Laptop The Galaxy Book 10.6 is better as a tablet than a laptop. It's does not have enough power and storage for me to use it as a day-to-day laptop. Maybe as a facebook machine, but not as a work laptop for people like me who uses adobe products like InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop all at the same time for work. If you've ever had the Galaxy Note, you can already expect the amazing precision Samsung can offer with their pressure sensitive digitizers. The Galaxy Book wasn't an exception. It's amazing how accurate it is. The screen is fantastic! The build is stunning. The battery is more than adequate. even after watching Netflix, YouTube and other streaming services continuously. I will give the Galaxy Book 10.6 64GB with intel m3 processor 3.5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my new business I got to try the Galaxy Book 10.6 64GB and it's been great! I used it to launch my new business and it is lightweight enough to take with me wherever I go while still being powerful enough to do business while I'm away from home. The display is as amazing as you would expect from Samsung. It has Windows 10 so you have the full capability of a laptop and the convenience of a tablet. The S-pen is great and I love the attached keyboard even though it could be a little bit bigger. It's ok for me, but if you have larger hands or are going to be using the laptop all day you might want to go with the 12 Galaxy Book. The battery life is better than expected. I also love the expandable memory. Overall I'm loving the Galaxy Book and am grateful to have been given the chance to test it out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good 2 in 1 Overall, I'm very pleased with the Samsung Book. While the base model is not very powerful, it is fast enough for basic tasks and entertainment (i.e. installing virtual box on it brought it to the limits). It is very nice to have the pen and keyboard included (as opposed to needing to purchase them separately). Pros: - Portable. Heavier than a dedicated tablet, but lighter than a standard laptop - Included digital pen and keyboard work well. - Connects to phone, allows fingerprint reader of phone to unlock - USB-C for charging and connectivity Cons: - Heavier than a tablet, but way lighter than a regular laptop - Too much flex in the included keyboard. When typing on the included keyboard on say your lap, I would have preferred a much sturdier holding that didn't flex. - Holder for digital pen seems like an after thought. This is attached to the keyboard and really should be in a better location (ideally attached magnetically) - The display auto brightness is too dim. The default setting of auto brightness doesn't work well in a dark environment. While this can be adjusted manually, it would be nice if it had just worked Conclusion: This is a good 2 in 1 basic laptop / tablet. The base model works well for tasks that one might run across every day (watching movies, simple photo edits, surfing). However, for development / more advanced use, you will need a better model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this 2-in-1 I tested this product for a couple of weeks. It's like a miniature computer. It does everything that a laptop can do but just a smaller version. I liked the way it links to all of my Samsung devices. The setup was so easy. The processor was really fast. It charges fast with its personal charger. It's a great tablet computer for on the go. It's a bit pricey but as far as 2-in-1 computers go, I would certainly buy it. The case that converts into a stand/keyboard was great to work on a table. It just doesn't work that well in your lap. I love that the storage is expandable. This is a must for functional tablets nowadays. I did prefer it over my laptop for surfing the internet, playing games and minor research, but for my larger jobs, I did go back to my laptop. The only thing I didn't like was there were no USB outlets to plug in a mouse. Great product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Design and Features Samsung has done it again with the great design of the Galaxy Book. It's very sleek and feels substantial without being heavy or clunky. The keyboard case/stand integrates very well and the keys are spaced well for typing. The keyboard works best when used on a table or other hard surface; when I use the keyboard on my lap, it flexes more than I like and I tend to detach the Book and use it in tablet mode instead. The display is gorgeous and the pen works really well, both as a pointer and for writing and sketching on the screen. The Book is pretty quick, too, and I never noticed any performance lags. Battery life has been great so far and I appreciate the available battery-life-saving feature that stops charging the battery at 85% capacity. Another feature that is pretty intriguing is Samsung Flow, which enables a direct wireless connection between the book and other Samsung devices. Connecting my phone was quick and easy but for me the interaction between the two is hit-and-miss--I'm able to see text messages and notifications on the Book but I haven't yet been able to transfer files between the two devices. This may be due to the anti-virus app I have on the phone, but I haven't spent time to troubleshoot it yet. Overall, I am very happy with the Samsung Galaxy Book and I highly recommend it; I purchased it through a promotion from The Insiders but I wouldn't hesitate to buy it at full price.
