The Galaxy Book 12 can last up to 11 hours of video playback on a single charge. Recharge it quickly thanks to Adaptive Fast Charging, which can recharge it fully in under three hours.

Windows 10 Home

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Cortana
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

    Samsung 12 reviews

    12" Galaxy Book 12 Multi-Touch 2-in-1 Notebook is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great unit only 2 flaws I so far love this PC/Tablet. It is fast enough space for what I need and is perfect for the on-the-go worker/student/professional. Battery life is amazing and the pen for it is great! Keyboard Cover/Case is smooth and keys are very responsive as is the touchpad the unit has. Pros: - Fast - Light - Bright Screen - Keyboard and touch pad feel/work great - Pen use feels natural Cons: - Can never attach the keyboard in one shot left or right side is always not in and has to be pushed/forced in at times. - Pen holder uses a sticker. to attach to the tablet. Would have preferred a strong magnet or an outside sleeve built into the keyboard/Cover.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome 2 in 1 Had my 12 Galaxy Book for 3 weeks and I love it! Been using laptops for a long time and tablets for the last 5 years. While this is the only two in one (laptop/tablet) device that I've used, I've grown to appreciate the touch screen capabilities and the flexibility of using a Windows 10 computer as a tablet. The SPen has its place, but even when I had my Note 7, I used about 10% of the time. With that said, the Galaxy Book is fast with its i5 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and SSD drive. The screen is gorgeous, the touch screen is responsive, and the keyboard feels very similar to my Samsung 13 Series 9 laptop which is great. I can't comment too much about battery life since I rarely use my laptops on batteries for a long time. I will say that you may have to upgrade your USB cables if you're not using USB C yet. Also, know that the keyboard requires a solid flat base which is what differentiates this from a traditional laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2-N-1 Galaxy Book! Samsung has done it again! I love that the Galaxy book, it comes with a detachable backlit keyboard case and a S Pen. The S Pen works really great, the tip is very thin so its gives you a precise writing look. it's really good to take notes with or even draw and doodle . You can also use it as a tablet without the keyboard. The screen is crisp and clear. It has a rear and front facing camera. It's good for on the go work because of its slim, sleek and light weight . The Samsung Flow App connects the Galaxy Book to your Samsung smartphone . You can share files wirelessly, even without WiFi. Plus you can receive and respond to notifications such as messages. I love using it while I'm commuting to work on the train. I'm so excited to see what else Samsung have in store next!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I have had this tablet/computer for a month now. Besides wanting to thoroughly test it before reviewing, I have to confess my delay is also attributable to the fact that I have been enjoying it so much, I have no time to write a review. first thing - its a tablet. No its a computer. Actually it works extremely well as both. The I5 7th generation chip is fantastic. Unheard of in a tablet. And it performs well in both settings. The amoled display is breathtaking (no I am not getting carried away). It is noticeably better than anything else I have seen. Add to this the large display. expansion by way of micro sd, a very responsive keyboard, the fact that it is lightweight and of course Windows 10 and you have a keeper. For work I am using a a 12.9 inch pro tablet with the optional case keyboard. As a result I can't help but compare them and the Galaxy wins hands down - Galaxy's better display, ability to use full office suite, speed, battery life and of course display makes it a winner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's nice I like it. Small, light, easy to take anywhere. The battery is fine for my purposes. It's no laptop, though a powerful tool, it is still a tabletcrossover. It's more mobile than a laptop and perfect for mobile business. Mine however... failed after 10 days. Total crash no booting up whatsoever. So currently it has been sent to a Samsung service center under warranty. . Not so convenient anymore. For me it's a nice portable computer.... somedayI hope.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than the Competition I currently own a laptop, a tablet, another 2-in-1 and the Samsung Galaxy Book and let me tell you, this is by far the best out of the bunch. Right out of the box I was amazed by how thin and light it was. It comes with an i5 processor and performs better than expected when using it as a tablet or a laptop. The 256GB memory is sufficient for day to day activities and with the 8GB ram it packs a powerful punch when multitasking. When I used the Samsung Galaxy Book as a tablet, it lasted around 9 hours but when used as a laptop it lasted only 3 hours which I was pretty upset about. It comes with a backlit keyboard and a pen which puts the competition far behind since you have to purchase accessories for the others. I love the HDR AMOLED screen and use it quite frequently watching movies and shows. This 2-in-1 has been my go to device for the past few weeks and I couldn't be happier! The pen is great, it's very responsive and doesn't require batteries which is always a plus. I found the keyboard to be a bit flimsy and hard to use while on my lap but on a table or a hard surface it performed better than expected. At the end of the day, the question to ask is: Would I pay retail price for the Samsung Galaxy Book? I would not. Overall I love how light the Samsung Galaxy Book is and would be perfect for business trips and traveling. Pros: HDR AMOLED screen, the 13MP rear camera, lightweight, backlit keyboard, pen, battery life, expendable memory Cons: Price

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Premium 2-in-1 laptop replacement!! This Galaxy Book is premium. I love the curves vs. my Surface 3's square unrefined square design. All the external ports and speaker/exhaust grills are premium, smooth and sexy! The back-lit keyboard/mouse/case as well as the Adaptive Fast USB type C charger and S-Pen. Cool! I am a frequent flyer for work and I find the 12-inch size perfect for me. It's super thin and lightweight compared to my already thin and light Dell XPS 13. I can charge this Book with my 5 port USB charger and leave all the rest of my chargers home. NICE!! The speakers face outward on the upper sides of the computer and create a very nice spatial, nearly surround sound stage. On the upper edge, there's another grill for cooling. I've only felt the fan blowing once and it's near silent. The case seems to protect it well and I don't have any scratches whatsoever after weeks of travel and use. The keyboard buttons are backlit and have a premium click and feel that's comparable to my XPS 13. One of the only things I would change is the Case/Touchpad! It's very hard to use the keyboard/touchpad case while propped up on anything other than a hard and flat surface. It wants to fall over backwards on my lap. Also, the touchpad sticks in the down position when it's not fully supported. Gets me out of bed though, so maybe that's a plus after all! Overall the Galaxy Book is an extremely well designed and very capable 2-in-1 that will be able to replace a laptop easily while still functioning for tablet purposes seamlessly!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the road I took my Book 12 for work to New York City and it performed like a champ. I appreciated the backlit keyboard on a darkened cabin. I worried because I typically do not travel with a Type-C USB cable. This worry went away when in the late afternoon when I still had plenty of battery life. It's light! Except for the price, I have no issues with the hardware and think that this is a home-run. I needed something as an iPad just doesn't cut it for business travel. I am struggling with the windows 10 but that is just a user learning curve issue. I was wondering when I would use it as a tablet and found that I rarely detached the keyboard/cover except for some downtime media streaming. I am loving the Drawboard PDF app that lets me use the S-Pen to mark up PDFs. This may my most used app since I markup PDFs a lot in my profession. The stylus is so sensitive that I may have to dial it down. I am still looking for a sketching/painting app to use for fun. The wireless connection is flawless. The tablet is good at picking out the strongest WiFi signal in the many access point scattered throughout my office. I haven't made full use of the Samsung Flow other than using my S7 to unlock my Book. The screen quality of the tablet is by for the icing on this cake. The quality of the color and fine pixels cannot be beat by any of the many tablets in my house. This has become the default media streaming device. The blacks are so deep, you can't tell where the screen stops and the painted bevel frame edge begins.
