The back of the 2big is equipped with two 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 ports and one 5 Gb/s USB 3.0 Type-C port, all of which allow you to interface with your host system at speeds up to 440 MB/s. Additionally, there is a DisplayPort interface that supports 720p, 1080p, and 4K displays.

On its front, the 2big has a built-in USB 3.0 Type-A port, which can charge your USB device or connect a USB drive or digital camera for offloading files, as well as a CompactFlash and SD card slots, allowing you to directly download content from your drone, DSLR, GoPro, and more. This dock can store hundreds of hours of 4K footage and hundreds of thousands of raw images.

The LaCie 20TB 2big Thunderbolt 3 Dock includes a Thunderbolt 3 / USB Type-C cable and an external power supply. If you want to use this dock with your USB 3.0 Type-A system, a USB 3.0 Type-C to Type-A cable is also included. Protection is provided by a limited 5-year warranty.

Hello, There are no options in the LaCie RAID Manager that allow to turn off the Blue LED. This is a status indicator as well as a power indicator to give important warnings about the state of the 2big. The list of colors below helps you identify the general status of your LaCie 2big Dock. Can a LaCie 20TB 2big Dock 2-Bay Raid Array ...

Can a LaCie 20TB 2big Dock 2-Bay Raid Array Thunderbolt 3 be purchased pre-formatted ("out of the Box") for Windows 10 PC and RAID 1? Possibly B&H could do this formatting?
Asked by: Tom
While you can not purchase the 2big Dock in this configuration, it is very easy to change. You will use the LaCie RAID manager ( LRM ) to change the RAID to RAID 1 then the LRM will auto format for Windows 10 PC. The LaCie RAID Manager can be downloaded at this link. https://www.lacie.com/support/software/lacie-raid-manager/

question

I've never used a Raid array before. This will be for my images on my new iMac Pro (currently have a Mac Pro with internal drives). If I use Raid 1, will the speed be noticeably slow? If I use Raid 0, I would want to back up the raid array. Can/should it be done with Time Machine or should I use some other backup software? Thanks!
Asked by: Sharon T.
If you are just looking for backup and not to edit off of, than RAID 1 would be for you. You would get 10TB of storage and 10TB of backup. RAID 1 is slower than RAID 0. But with RAID 0 you would be just getting speed, and no backup. If you want RAID 0 for speed, but also want backup, you should look at a different system with RAID 10. I have attached an option below.
