Vello Off-Camera TTL Flash Cord for Nikon Cameras (1.5')
Key Features
  • Compatible with Nikon i-TTL
  • Coiled Cord
  • Mounts to Flash Shoe
  • Mounts to 1/4"-20 Threaded Studs
The 1.5' Vello Off-Camera TTL Flash Cord provides creative photographers with the ability to remotely fire Nikon flashes with i-TTL capabilities. Removing the flash from the camera's hot shoe allows the photographer to create unique and dramatic lighting styles that are not possible with a traditional shoe-mounted strobe. This coiled cord measures 1.5', which is enough distance to accommodate hand-held lighting styles or when keeping the flash mounted on a compact flash bracket. Also, off-camera lighting reduces the harsh shadows commonly encountered with direct on-camera flashes and gives your photographs a more natural look.

Vello OCS-N Overview

One side of the TTL cable fits directly into the camera's hot shoe to ensure that all of the camera's exposure data is maintained. The other side has a metal foot with thread that can be attached to any stand, tripod, or device with a standard 1/4"-20 threaded stud or flash shoe mount, and the shoe has a locking knob to ensure your equipment is secure.

I chose this over the Nikon cable to save money. It works as well as the higher-priced brand. I have other products from Vello and have been satisfied with their products.

So far, so good

I've only shot a few times with it in the field, but thus far, it works great. It lets me get my master flash a bit off camera. It makes a huge difference in the quality of light in most situations and allows me to use modifiers without covering the lens when macro shooting.

It works with my Leica Q.

Handy because of the short cord.

The shorter cord works better on a close mount flash bracket.

Works with Z6 II and Godox flash. Moves the flash off the camera, works great.

Poor quality

This cord frayed at the end that attaches to the hot shoe after less than 2 years. I rarely used it in 2020 because of the pandemic and now it is almost completely separated from the base.

Great value

I purchased this instead of the Nikon version to save some money. It works as well as the Nikon version. I use it for off-camera flash while photographing waterfowl and wildlife.

works with my Z-50 and Newer TTL flash for when I dont want to fiddle with remotes, etc... (I run Godox OCF with wireless trigger for portraits). I use this cable with TTL flash for Macro and it works 100% for me! I am sure a Godox or any other TTL or manual flash would work fine too
