Celestron National Parks Foundation overview

  • 1Description

Branded with their NPF logo, the 10x50 National Parks Foundation Porro Binocular from Celestron offers a large magnification for exceptional up-close detail with the added benefit of low-light performance, thanks to its oversized objectives. Good on the hunt or for outdoor panoramic vistas it is an excellent choice to double as an astronomical sky scanner. The exceptionally wide 68° apparent angle of view provides sweeping views of vistas or lunar surface details, while also limiting the appearance of visible hand-shake that is often associated with high-power optics.

This NPF binocular features multi-coated optics for brighter, sharper, higher contrasted viewing, and the classic Porro prism design lays out better three-dimensional imaging with less light loss versus comparable roof-prism models. The outdoor factor has not been ignored, with a water-resistant rubber covered aluminum housing that has been thoughtfully designed with finger ridges and thumb indents for a secure and slip-resistant grip. Fold the rubber eyecups down with eye or sunglasses and extend them with glasses for the maximum field of view.

10x50 National Parks Foundation Porro Binocular is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent All Around Binoculars Excellent value for the money! Wide field-of-view 6.8 degrees, combined with 50mm aperture, and a 5mm exit pupil make the image, VERY bright, VERY clear. Excellent dual use for Astronomy, and Nature, while still being small enough to be handheld. As an added bonus, the center cap unscrews and is threaded for a tripod adapter! Excellent All-around, handheld Binoculars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy. Caught the end of the 1/31/18 lunar eclipse with mine. Normally I carry 45 year old 7x35 Bushnells in my car trunk. My late Dad had bought a pair for me, my bro and our late Mom (Masters Degree in Outdoor Education!) - way back when. Good - but these old eyes now need something stronger. These were on sale in 2017, so I bought them on a guess. Though Chinese glass - a very decent design. Seeing the 3rd or 4th lunar eclipse of my old life with these - was a great investment!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Starter Pair of Binoculars Great price. I bought three pairs of these for the children. My son, the oldest, thought they were nicer than the binoculars they use as Lifeguards. My youngest is seven. The size was a little big for her, but she could still use them. They're big, so you won't want them hanging around your neck while hiking through the woods. Great for looking at birds from the porch or your Jeep. Quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super buy at this price. If weight is not an issue for you, (such as trying to pack very light for hiking), these are a great value. Robust build. Heavy cast body, rubber armored. Don't know yet if they are well weather sealed. Lens caps on large end are easy to slide off so I'm going to rig up lanyards for them so they won't get bumped off when I an not paying attention. Lens cap keepers would probably work too. Now to order the tripod adapter since these have a threaded socket already ready mounting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent Binocular for the price I bought two pair on a B_H DealZone special. My grandson loves his, I am OK with mine. It's easy to trump these with better glasses, but for the money these binoculars are nearly a steal. Don't hesitate, just buy and you be happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Difficult to beat at this price! I may be no expert on binoculars but I am pretty picky on photography and sharpness. I am pretty sure you can get better stuff with much more but at this price these binoculars are a steal! I am so happy I got them! I can see tons of my favorite "preys" (birds, deer, all sorts of other animals) really up close and with a bright view. I am going to check them for the moon as well. I would definitely recommend them if you like birdwatching and are on a budget!
