HTC One M9 overview

  • 1Description

A Snapdragon 810 Octa-Core CPU means the unlocked, gunmetal gray HTC One M9 32GB Smartphone features not one, but two 64-bit quad-core processors, one that is 2 GHz and one that is 1.5 GHz - enough for even the most intensive 3D gaming. On top of the CPU, it features an Adreno 430 GPU for even more robust graphics performance behind its 5", Full HD screen and there is 3GB of RAM for a further boost. Mobile photographers will appreciate the 20-megapixel rear-facing camera, the highest to date in the One family. Plus, film makers aren't neglected either with the inclusion of 4K30, 1080p60, and 720p120 video recording. Additionally, the front camera has been bumped up to an UltraPixel for this generation of HTC's flagship.

The phone features 32GB built-in memory which can be further expanded using a separately available microSDXC card up to 128GB. For connecting to a computer and charging there is a micro-USB port with MHL support and there is a 3.5mm headphone/mic input combo jack. Apart from 4G LTE broadband communications, there is Wi-Fi so you can surf the Web and stream movies without eating into your data allotment - an available access point required. Bluetooth 4.1 is provided for headsets, linking to a computer or tablet, or connecting with other close-range devices while consuming substantially less power than Wi-Fi would require.

HTC One M9 reviews

One M9 32GB AT&T Branded Smartphone (Unlocked, Gunmetal Gray) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I want to like this phone but... This phone was perfect for me since it has everything I was looking for: FM radio, Infra-red remote control, MHL output (For direct connection to an HDMI TV input ), external SD card...all for a good price but... Since I live in Canada and I can not use the AT&T network, I can not update from Android 5.0.1 to Android 7 which is available from AT&T for this phone. Without this update the phone overheats and the camera is not working very well in low light. Sadly I would return this phone since the AT&T Android updates are not available for me. I was also annoy by the amount of Applications pre-installed by AT&T which are not very useful if you do not use the AT&T network in the USA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really like it so far. I've only had this product for a couple of weeks, but so far I am very pleased. Was also very pleased with B&H customer service, and the speed at which it got to me. I've had an HTC product for years and always loved it. Would have kept that one, but I had to get a phone with updated OS to use with a new smart watch. This new phone seems to be up to HTC's usual high standards. Another big reason I got this one was because, even thought HTC has now released newer versions of this phone, it was last version to include an FM radio receiver. It doesn't make me happy that they've decided to remove this from newer versions. If they don't add it back in, I may find myself going to some other brand when it comes time to renew again. Provided, of course, there will still be some phones out there that do include an FM receiver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Deal, Great Price This was a top-of-the-line phone just a couple of years ago. Getting it now for such a low price makes a lot of sense, especially for anyone who is rough on cell phones. My rock-climbing son got only 11 months out of his last phone before it had a smashed screen and started acting flaky. The phone before that didn't last much longer before being soaked in a backpack that was inadvertently placed in a puddle. This HTC One M9 is a good value, and I think it's a better phone than any new models that are priced similarly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great phone for the price After paying $500 for a new phone of the year and breaking it 8 months later, I decided to buy an older model phone for 1/3 the cost that has the same capabilities. The good thing with getting an AT&T branded phone is its 100% compatible with all the networks features (doesn't block VoLTE calls) and they have online troubleshooting guides specific to the device. The bad thing is the AT&T bloatware and it came with the original 2015 Android 5 load. With AT&T you can only update your phone once every 24 hours. I needed 9 updates to get to the most recent Android 7! I'm currently at update #7, so waiting for my next chance to download from the very slow OTA service. I'm not adventurous enough to root my phone and load my own ROM with Android 7, which is possible (and I heard easy) with HTC.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from HTC One M9 Fine smartphone. Had original HTC One and battery gave out and performed inconsistently. This one is all I need and a good price/value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best cell phone at the best price With this cell phone I only buy and sell it but it has a very good price and it does not lose its validity

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still an excellent phone New phone, prior version. Like it as much as I did the first one I got 2.5 years ago which this replaced which is a lot. First time I purchased an older model so generic things to know.. att only allows one update a day so to get it back to the most recent Android 7 took two weeks. In the meantime gps had issues and my own number did not show up causing issues when calling my card accounts etc.
