HTC 99HALN002-00 Overview

Designed for an immersive, room-scale virtual reality experience, the HTC Vive Headset was developed by HTC and Valve to be a complete system that includes video, audio, and precise motion tracking.

Featuring a 110° field of view and 32 sensors for precise tracking, the HTC Vive allows for total immersion in a virtual reality environment. The 2160 x 1200 resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate deliver detailed graphics and motion for smooth gameplay and realistic movement. In-game interaction is possible using to the two included Vive controllers, each with HD haptic feedback, dual-stage triggers, and multi-function trackpads. Each Vive controller features 24 sensors for 360° one-to-one tracking that mirrors hand movements. Room-scale motion tracking is enabled by the included base stations that sync wirelessly, avoiding the need for additional cords.

The HTC Vive's built-in convenience and safety features are seamlessly integrated for an uninterrupted experience. The Chaperone guidance system alerts you if you approach the boundaries of the play area, while a front-facing camera blends physical elements into the virtual world. Powered by SteamVR, the HTC Vive provides you with access to VR games through Valve's Steam client.

Can you wear prescription glasses with this headset?
Asked by: Jim
Yes, in fact if your frames are not too large, you want to wear them. The headset does not focus as binoculars would - if you don't wear your prescription eye glasses, you are not going to be able to read things as easily.

Can this be used with a new MacBook Pro?
Asked by: Steve
Not directly. An external GPU is needed. Sonnet Thunderbolt 3 seems to be the one that Apple is pointing people towards. Here is a case study for more info: https://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/data/mac-vr-nov2018/mac-vr.html

question

Will I need to buy anything after I buy this? Like, does it come with everything I need?
Asked by: Kpop L.
If you have a VR enabled computer, you dont need anything else. The Vive comes with the sensors, connections and controllers. You could add the Vive headphones if you like, but other headphones work as well
