The headline says it all. Not real fast, but I don't have many files to upload.

I have ProGrade Digital 128GB UHS-II v60 card. The file transfer speed from the reader to old Crucial M500 SSD through USB 3.2 Gen 1 5Gbps Type-A is over 200 MB/s. (MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR4 motherboard. end of 2021). Similar speed to a regular Seagate 7200rpm 2TB drive. Haven't tried the Gen 2 10Gbps port. The speed is just over 100 MB/s on an 8 y/o motherboard like Asus Z87-A. First gen of USB 3.0 Enjoy the fast speed w Sony UHS-II card reader. but i don't drive fast :)

More than an investment.

My older iMac could not read the data from my Fuji X-Pro2 using the extant card reader slot on the back of the computer. So I bought this Sony SD card reader and my angst melted away. I should have known. SInce about 1985, B&H has consistently been my go-to source for my camera gear. They remain the best in the biz.

Makes a big difference!

Worth every penny because time is money! It saved me so much time at the end of each shooting day. I love that it is so small. It has a red LED indicator which is quite useful.

works as expected, like the cover

After having difficulty transferring data from a card faster than I had been using, I purchased this card reader. I guess as our memory cards become faster at transferring data, we need updated readers. This one works great.

question

I was given this reader as a gift, but when using it with my late 2013 mac pro and uhs-II cards or cards in general it is very slow. In fact my old non uhs-II reader is faster. Is there a solution for this?
Asked by: Anonymous
Currently, using USB 3.1 cables and ports and UHS-II SD memory cards, is one of the fastest ways to transfer photos available. It is likely that your computer does not have USB 3.1 ports available so these high speeds will be slowed by the much slower computer and ports being used. Whichever is the slowest link in the chain will throttle all of the others to its speed.

Does the reader have a push-to-eject mechanism like those card slots in cameras?
Asked by: Martin
No it does not have an eject mechanism, its not needed. When an SD-Card is inserted into the Sony reader the tail of the card sticks out 3/8" so its easy to insert and remove.
