The NT-1 KIT 1" Cardioid Condenser Microphone from RODE includes the Rode NT1 cardioid condenser microphone, an SM6 premium shockmount with a detachable pop filter, a microphone dust cover, and an XLR cable. While the body of the NT-1 still resembles the NT1-A, the mic has been completely redesigned except for the mesh grille. The large-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone features RODE's updated HF6 capsule that is designed to provide a detailed midrange response with smooth highs and a warm bass. The HF6 capsule is suspended inside the microphone using Rycote's industry-leading Lyre system to help reduce vibration and handling noises. Also, with self-noise measured at only 4.5 dBA, the NT1 is an extremely quiet microphone.

The body of the mic is machined from nickel-plated aluminum and is then coated in a ceramic layer, which is electrostatically applied for a scratch-resistant finish.

Polsen HPC-A30-MK2 Closed-Back Studio Monitor Headphones

The HPC-A30-MK2 Closed-Back Studio Monitor Headphones from Polsen offer a solution for experiencing rich and natural sound when listening to music through a mobile device or monitoring a podcast on your computer. These headphones can also be used for DJ work, thanks to the swiveling earcups that let you monitor audio while keeping one ear free.

The HPC-A30-MK2's over-ear design isolates the sound and prevents leakage for optimum listening conditions in loud environments, such as a club or on the go. The 10' cable also gives you the freedom to move around while working and terminates in a 1/8" TRS stereo plug, which is compatible with most mobile devices and computers. In addition, a stereo 1/4" adapter is included to plug into a stereo or mixing board.

Mobile

The HPC-A30-MK2 headphones deliver a rich sound for listening to audio on a mobile device. Whether you're listening on a smartphone, an iPod, or a tablet, these headphones deliver detailed sound even in noisy environments.

Over-Ear Design

The over-ear design isolates sound in loud environments and prevents leakage for optimum listening conditions. This design is good for listening to music on a busy street, and for DJs who need to monitor their audio in a noisy club.

DJ Applications

The headphones are suitable for DJ applications and include a tuned bass response for low-end clarity. The pivoting earcups are ideal for one-ear or on-the-shoulder monitoring. A padded headband offers to keep you comfortable during a lengthy session.

Broadcast and Podcast

The headphones allow for monitoring audio on a laptop or in a home studio as well as recording a vlog on a smartphone.

Swiveling and Rotating Earcups

If you're a DJ who likes to keep one ear free, you can swivel one of the earcups for on-the-shoulder monitoring. The earcups also rotate 90° so you can turn one of the earcup outward for one-ear handheld monitoring.

10' Cable

A headphone cable that's too short is almost like sitting on the sidelines—you can't be part of the action. If you need to move around while you work, the 10' cable will allow you to move about freely.

Kopul Studio Elite 4000 Series XLR M to XLR F Microphone Cable (10', Black)

The Kopul Studio Elite 4000 Series XLR M to XLR F Microphone Cable (10') is a studio-quality cable for connecting mics to mixers, preamps, audio interfaces and recorders; or to be used in any other application where XLR connectivity is required. The cable is engineered to be both quiet and durable, and is well-suited for critical recording and broadcast situations.

Studio Elite 4000 Series cables are made from 24 AWG OFC copper wire that's wrapped with PE insulation and a conductive PVC inner shield. A cotton-yarn inner layer helps reduce electrostatic and microphonic noise. A 98% braided outer shield makes the cable resistant to EMI and RFI noise. The Neutrix XX silver connectors provide a high level of connectivity, and all the solder connections are shrink-wrapped for protection.

98% braided shield offers protection from EMI and RFI noise.
Twin-conductive PVC inner shielding provides 100% coverage of the core conductor. It helps keep the cable's signal from radiating and affecting nearby cables, and also helps prevent external EMI from penetrating to the cable's core.
24 AWG oxygen-free stranded copper inner core provides the best possible conductivity.
Cotton yarn reduces electrostatic and microphonic noise.
All solder points shrink-wrapped for protection.
Neutrik XX silver connectors offer high conductivity.
Cast zinc shell and chuck style strain relief.

Does this mic have the actual SMR shockmount included or is it the SM6?
Asked by: Yinka
The NT1 page - right here, above - says it includes an XLR cable. Is that incorrect?

XLR Cable Included? I've seen unboxing videos where an XLR Cable and Mic Sock (not wind filter) are included, but they're not listed here hence my question.
Asked by: Out d'Box
Thank you all for the responses, I know you are trying to assist me in this forum but I am shopping for a new Rode Microphone for studio work and this caught my attention when I saw the complete kit unboxed with the SM6 shock mount. I wish I could've included hyperlinks to the unboxing videos that unmistakenly shows the NT1 kits. I think Rode does/did kit the NT1 with the SM6 and a 25' XLRM-XLRF Cable. Thanks, everyone.

I tried to connect to a Pioneer DJM 900 NXS2, but ...

I tried to connect to a Pioneer DJM 900 NXS2, but the the microphone doesn't work at all. I tested via Focusrite on my computer, and it does work there well. How can I set up the mic with DJM 900 NXS2 to get sound?
Asked by: Janos
The Microphone is a condenser and requires 48v of Phantom Power, which the Pioneer mixer does not supply. You can use an external phantom power supply, like the Rolls PB23. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/155422-REG/Rolls_PB23_PB23_Single_Channel.html However, if you intend to do live performances, this may not be the right mic. As it is a condenser, it is very sensitive and will pick up crowd and room noise, and possibly cause feedback in a live setting. You may want to consider switching to a dynamic mic for your live shows.

The last person who reviewed this item said that the shock mount didn't fit and that a tread adapter is needed— is that true? Or does this full kit come ready to set up and use?
Asked by: Seven
Hello Seven, I have read the review and it is possible that a piece of the reflection filter could have been missing. However, we can't be sure of this. The Auray filter shows all pieces necessary to connect a standard 5/8th microphone stand. The Rode SMR shock mount comes with both the 3/8ths adapter and 5/8ths to connect to all standard microphone stands.

Can i use usb speakers with it Or do i have to buy speakers with the left right cord?
Asked by: freddie
Hello Freddie, the AI-1 Audio Interface is meant to work as a replacement for your onboard sound card and is equipped with two balanced 1/4" outputs and not USB. If you would like to use your USB speakers, you would most likely have to use the AI-1 as your input first, disconnect, and then use your USB speakers as an output after the fact. I have heard of solutions for using two USB ports simultaneously, however, you would need to consult with your computer's manufacturer to see if this is possible.
