Acer DG.E04AA.001 overview

  • 1Description

The Acer Predator G3 Desktop Computer is suitable for gaming and other tasks by sporting a 7th-generation Intel processor and ample amounts of RAM along with an NVIDIA Pascal-based, VR-ready graphics card. The Intel Core i5-7400 processor is armed with four cores that are clocked at 3.0 GHz, but with Intel's Turbo Boost technology, they can achieve speeds of up to 3.5 GHz. To help run multiple applications at the same time, 12GB of DDR4 2400 MHz system memory is on board. For storing apps and data, the Predator G3 comes outfitted with a 1TB 7200 rpm hard drive for ample storage space as well as a 128GB M.2 SSD that enables fast boot times and access to frequently-used apps. There's even a hot-swap drive bay for quickly installing additional storage drives.

Visuals are handled by an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card with 3GB of GDDR5 video memory. This video card can render 3D textures smoothly and delivers ultra-detailed images through its HDMI and DisplayPort outputs. To complete the multimedia experience, the Predator G3 is outfitted with Creative's Sound Blaster X-Fi MB5 with EAX 5.0 technology that produces surround sounds utilizing the desktop's five audio jacks. Aside from multimedia, this desktop is rounded out with two USB 2.0 and six USB 3.0 ports along with a SuperMulti DVD drive, Gigabit Ethernet port, SDXC card reader, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0 LE. Additionally, this Predator G3 desktop includes a USB gaming keyboard and mouse along with Windows 10 Home preinstalled.

Predator G3 Features

The Predator G3 desktop features an armor-covered design on the chassis as well as a convenient pop-out cradle for hanging your headset. The Predator G3 is powered by a 7th generation Intel Core i5-7400 processor, 12GB of DDR4 system memory, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics. This level of performance generates heat, so Acer has designed the Predator G3 with an IceTunnel thermal system, which provides multiple air intake zones on the front and left sides of the machine to create an efficient air flow that pushes out hot air. Moreover, the Predator G3's chassis is easy to open, allowing you to perform modifications on the system.
Storage Access
The Easy-swap expansion bay lets users move or switch their data quickly and provides expandability for up to two drives. A hard disk lock allows you to lock your important data for security. Frequently-used multimedia devices can be quickly access by using the desktop's SD card slot and USB 3.0 ports in the front, so you can transfer data, videos, and photos.
Leap into Full HD action with NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card with 3GB of GDDR5 video memory, driven by NVIDIA Pascal architecture. This gaming platform is VR ready, and you can plug in a VR headset to step into a new world. With Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi MB5 with EAX 5.0 surround sound, the ability to clearly hear specific sounds in a gaming environment will enhance the overall experience. An audio control interface lets you customize the audio settings to your liking. After the fight, relax and pop your favorite movie into the DVD drive. The onboard HDMI port lets you expand this experience on your giant big screen.

Windows 10 Home Features

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.
