PocketWizard FlexTT6 Overview

Take complete control over your wireless radio flash system with the FlexTT6 Transceiver from PocketWizard. Compatible with PocketWizard radio and with support for Canon's latest cameras and flashes, this E-TTL / E-TTL II compatible transceiver will open the door to advanced off-camera lighting techniques. As a combination transmitter and receiver, the FlexTT6 can function as both an on-camera master or as a remote slave, and it features a hot shoe on the top for using a flash both on-camera and off. Also, it enjoys PocketWizard's ControlTL technology for both wireless TTL and Manual Power Control settings when working.

The FlexTT6 utilizes a standard 340-354 MHz frequency with access to 52 channels that make it less susceptible to interference. It also provides a maximum range of 800' when using TTL or 1200' when operating as a simple trigger. Users can work without line-of-sight and they will have access to features such as HyperSync and high-speed sync for shooting at shutter speeds up to 1/8000 second. Along with this, the Canon model has optimized performance for rear curtain sync. Beyond flashes, shooters can use the FlexTT6 to trigger cameras as well as larger studio strobes via the two 3.5mm sync ports. Additionally, it will run on two AA batteries and features a mini-USB port for future firmware updates.

This item is FCC compliant and can only be used with corresponding USA FCC compliant models. Using this item outside of the United States may be illegal. B&H is not responsible for any fines, fees, or penalties that may come from inappropriate spectrum usage.
ControlTL works with Canon's E-TTL / E-TTL II system to provide full TTL support with the latest cameras and flashes. It also provides the option for Manual Power Control for up to three zones as well as PowerTracking for automatic changes. Another benefit is an optimized High Speed Sync mode for shooting at shutter speeds up to 1/8000 second. Additionally, the Canon model has an optimized rear curtain sync method.
HyperSync technology uses advanced processing to enable faster sync speeds without requiring TTL and dedicated high-speed sync technologies.
A Pre-Flash Boost setting will help compensate for light loss over distance or through diffusion to help the camera accurately meter.
The FlexTT6 is compatible with all PocketWizard radios that operate with a 340-354 MHz frequency.
Users will enjoy a range of up to 800' when using TTL or up to 1200' when used as a basic trigger. This is assisted by a 2.7" rubberized antenna that can be tilted 180° for optimal positioning.
A basic trigger mode is available for use with other brand cameras and for simple manual operation.
Auto-sensing technology allows it to automatically switch between operation as a transmitter or receiver.
An Auto-Relay mode is available for triggering a remote camera as well as remote flashes.
A mini-USB port is available for using the PocketWizard Utility to install firmware updates.
Shoot at speeds within 1 fps of the camera's max fps when using TTL or at the camera's max fps when in basic triggering mode.

PocketWizard FlexTT6 Reviews

don't waste your money!!!!

I purchased these to work with my Speedlights. I did my research and it appeared they where compatible with my Canon 580EX ii & 430 EX ii. The 580EXii wouldn't fire properly. I upgraded my camera form the 5dIV to a R5 after owning these for a few months. the Pocketwizard TT6 is not compatible at all. Pocketwizard has no plans to fix the issue either. The solution is to sell you the Raven for another $499. You can get theTT6 on eBay for pennies on the dollar. One of the biggest photography waste of money purchases I have ever made.

I have these pocket wizard for years now and they are extremely unreliable, expensive and the company doesn't stand behind their product. These Pocket wizard Flex was supposed to be do upgrades in the software to accommodate new updates but it comes to workout that it does work with the newer cameras... I'd expect that the company would at least a discount on new products since their promises won't stand but they don't do offer that. If you are starting with a new radio system do choose Pocket Wizards

I set the TT6 up for my Canon 1DX2 and it ...

I set the TT6 up for my Canon 1DX2 and it triggerred Hypersync perfect. Then I changed the software to my Canon 5Dmk4. It triggers the flash, but Hypersync doesn't work. Any advice?
Asked by: Vigleik
It sounds like there's a setting that needs to be changed. Every camera's timings are a little different and that will impact how fast you can HyperSync but it shouldn't be a huge difference between those 2 bodies. If you contact PocketWizard directly at [email protected], we can better help you get it set up.

question

I have a mini tt1 and several tt5's that I've used to shot with my Canon 7D and Canon 550EX flash units. Will the tt6 be able to trigger the tt5's/550ex on the 80D in Ettl mode?
Asked by: Miroslav K.
Yes. PocketWizard states that the FlexTT6 is forward, backward and cross-compatible with the PocketWizard family of wireless radios. This includes compatibility with the FlexTT5 as a receiving radio, as well as the entire line of Plus radios, the MultiMAX, MiniTT1, AC3 ZoneController and Control TL receivers. As such, the PocketWizard FlexT6 would be able to be used as a transmitter to trigger the off-camera PocketWizard FlexTT5 transceivers (which would work as radio remotes) to trigger the Canon 550EX in E-TTL mode.

This answer is correct: These are designed to be directly connected to speedlights and do not have sync cables included. They do come with a USB cable for updating firmware. If you need help finding the correct sync cable, you can check the PocketWizard cablefinder or contact them directly at [email protected]

Asked by: B
Pocketwizard is working on the E release for the Canon FlexTT6 which will include compatibility with Canon mirrorless cameras such as the canon R5 unit. Pocketwizard does not have a current ETA for this release. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
