Senal CXBM-620/O Overview

  • 1Description

Presented in a sturdy low-profile metal housing, the Senal CXBM-620/O is a CX Series condenser boundary microphone offering enhanced speech intelligibility with low noise for conferences, meetings, training sessions, and more. Its omnidirectional polar pattern delivers consistent pickup from all directions, making it ideal as a single mic for multiple subjects in an acoustically treated room. The 60 Hz to 16 kHz frequency response yields reliable clarity, and can be tailored to attenuate additional low frequencies via the selectable high-pass filter. Non-skid rubber padding on the bottom of the CXBM-620/O decouples it from surface-born vibrations, and keeps it in position even on slick tabletops.

A silent membrane press-to-mute switch allows convenient manual control of signal activity, while mute on/off status is indicated by a dedicated LED. Connect the balanced low-impedance TA3M output to your mixer with the supplied 25' TA3F to XLR 3-pin cable. Both the cable and microphone are shielded to negate noise from RF and EM interference. The CXBM-620/O is operated via 9 to 52 VDC phantom power, no need to replace or recharge batteries.

Back-Electret Condenser Capsule
Powered via 9 to 52 VDC phantom power from a mixer or microphone preamplifier, the CXBM-620/O's back-electret condenser capsule delivers full-range frequency reproduction with high sensitivity, making it compliant with a variety of mic preamps.
Omnidirectional Polar Pattern
The omnidirectional polar pattern of the CXBM-620/O provides reliable pickup regardless of the source's direction. With a 360° response area, the CXBM-620/O can capture voices from all sides, making it well suited as a single microphone for multiple people in an acoustically treated space.
Intelligibility Optimized for Voice
The CXBM-620/O's 60 Hz to 16 kHz frequency response enhances speech intelligibility while attenuating sub-bass and ultra-high frequencies.
Selectable High-Pass Filter
A selectable high-pass filter applies 6 dB/octave of attenuation at 150 Hz, effectively minimizing problematic low-frequency content from errant vibrations and rumble from HVAC systems.
Balanced Low-Impedance Output
The TA3 output connector contributes to the microphone's low profile, and allows quick hookup of the supplied 25' TA3F to XLR 3-pin cable for proper interfacing with most mixing consoles, PA systems, and mic preamps. The CXBM-620/O's balanced low-impedance output inhibits common sources of interference such as RF and EM while being compliant with extended cable runs.
Protective Shielding
Both the microphone and included cable are shielded to impede noise caused by electrical interference from mobile devices and light sources.
Convenient Press-to-Mute Switch
Silent and convenient, the membrane switch grants simple press-to-mute functionality to avoid unnecessarily passing signal. A dedicated LED clearly indicates the CXBM-620/O's mute status.
Non-Skid Rubber Padding
To prevent the transfer of floor- or table-born vibrations to the microphone, the CXBM-620/O features non-skid rubber pads on its bottom surface. In addition to decoupling the microphone from your desk or tabletop, they keep it firmly stationed devoid of accidental slippage.

    Senal CXBM-620/O Reviews

CXBM-620/O CX Series Condenser Boundary Microphone (Omnidirectional) is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from noise floor is way too high—outputs loud audible tape hiss I guess you get what you pay for with mics. The pros of this mic: crisp and clear audio, good pickup range, good price, nice mute switch. For our purposes, the con outweighs the pro, however: the noise floor is way too high. This thing outputs a loud, high frequency hiss noise (think 1980s-style tape hiss) that makes the mic virtually unusable for us. If you have the extra money, the Shure MX391/O omni boundary mic has a much lower noise floor, making it well worth the extra $100 (youll need the 393 if you need a mute switch). If youre on a budget and dont mind a loud tape hiss under your audio, this mic actually does have good pickup range, and it does output a crisp signal (its not at all muddy or murky). If it werent for the unacceptable noise floor, this mic would be a sure winner, especially given the price.
