This is the first (super)wide angle lens I have had in my 70 years of photography. Clearly, there are many things to learn about its use, but I'm trying to work my way through the various reviews, wide angle commentary, etc. As has been my constant experience BHPhoto has never failed to have in stock the precise item I was looking for, to make ordering efficient and shipping safe and timely. This is a very fine lens in my early experience, as BHPhoto is a trustworthy distributor. I look forward to seventy more years of satisfaction. Well done, B&H and Nikon.

I initially got this lens for videography, due to its most recent technology in autofocus and optical image stabilization, within the DSLR tech generation; also, to replace my old, outdated Sigma 10-20mm DC f/4-5.6 zoom lens, paired with my D500. And also, to use it as a low-budget UWA lens for my future Nikon Z camera.
After some usage, I've come to realize that this Nikkor lens is softer than my Sigma UWA, for photography, regardless of aperture. Also, it's not precisely weather-resistant. Hence, the four-star rating I'm giving to it.
On the other hand, it's lightweight, autofocus is instantaneous, accurate and quiet, OIS is great, and the image quality for casual and more serious videography is more than enough for what I need.
Between this Nikkor and the Sigma, I'll keep using the Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 for its superior image quality for photography, and the Nikon one for videography.
First time with a super wide angle - love it.

This lens goes wide enough for somewhat of a fisheye effect, it's great for panning across the scene and bending the edges for a disorienting look, and can pull in to a good dimensional wide-angle view in a moment. I'm very pleased with the expanded capability it provides, because so often, it's not possible to get back far enough to get a scene in frame in an indoor environment, or sometimes outdoors in rocky terrain, or in urban structural locations. I like it a lot.

I'd used a Tamron 10-2mm for several years, and it had several issues with the electronics, but this Nikon lens is lighter weight, with vibration reduction, and better focusing capacity...it's been great so far.
Excellent lens for the price

Is a very good lens... lightweight, very sharp... a lot of distortion in the maximum focal length, but is expectable at 10mm. I bought it for landscape and in my reports in construction. Very good performance, even in low light conditions. I do panoramic and 360 degree pictures (wee planets) and this lens is the best choice/investment. Remember, is a entry level wide angle lens... so you get what you pay for.

I shoot news and sports for a living and am almost 60, so when I can, I use smaller, lighter gear, which is easier on my shoulders. This lens camps on my Nikon D5500, serving as an excellent grab and go-to wideangle for spot news, news conferences, and sports. The only limiting factor is the maximum f4.5-5.6 aperture, so it won't be the right choice for fall and winter events. With thousands of frames through it in the short time I've had it, and I am loving it.

Can't beat it for the price.
