Way too heavy for modifiers (Handle Won't Lock)

The light itself is great... normal Godox quality... BUT the the handle is crap... once you put a modifier on it... it just slides down constantly I thought that they would lock in like the AD 600's but so my shock, it does not. I have to purchase an off brand stand locking mechanism to make this light what it is now. If not I would have returned this light as I bought two QT600's and two QT 12oo's. The 1200's are way TOO HEAVY.... I will never purchase another QT 1200... Not happy at all... hopefully in the future Godox will FIX this... come on guys! You make an excellent light so put the time in to make the stand mount and swivel mechanism better!

No cons to mention, as far as I'm concerned. Will replace all my other studio strops, once the price drops or there is an offer on it. Go for it if you have a good size studio. you're not going to have too much light

Powerful light, though a bit to heavy

I bought this unit for my studio so I needed a light powerful enough to use softboxes, silks and other modifiers. It definitely has enough juice (I usually end up running it at around 1/4.) My only complaint is that the unit is too heavy. So heavy that you can only use it straight up on a stand and not inverted on a c-stand arm without the unit spinning at the mount point. This is especially true if you use the tightening knob that it comes with. This knob is very hard to tighten because of its round shape. I ended up getting some tightening knobs from broncolor hoping that the better knobs will allow me to invert the light but sadly it did not work. I was however able to get a tighter lock on it which kept the light from spinning when pitched at small angles. I bought a pair of godox DP1000's and those will definitely be my go tos as they are a bit lighter so they could be inverted on a stand.

Everything you need in studio light

This literally has everything I need in my studio. I don't mind running is power cable. It is certainly not on a par with our Broncolor lights, but it is Way more affordable and it's easier to handle. This is my second order, and I have just placed an order for a third. Too much power? not in our spacious with dark grey walls and 13 ft black seiling. This 1200 w/s light is the minimum we need for dance shoots.

Hello, I shoot outdoor sports teams. I have been using the Einsteins with good results until there is action. Has anyone used this unit outdoors, carried it in a case (need 2), and tested the output under HSS conditions? I don't want TTL and I don't need battery. This seems like the most power with HSS at a reasonable price. Thanks for your input.
    Asked by: Sean
This light has nearly twice the output of a Einstien light. It is a very good balance of features to price point.

It is our understanding that the locking mechanism which holds the reflector or a speed ring in place is quite solid.

When using this flash head with modifiers that have plastic components, you should remove the incandescent modeling bulb and replace it with a LED or Fluorescent modeling lamp bulb to avoid excessive heat - What is the recommended LED or Fluorescent modeling light replacement?
    Asked by: DANIEL G
There is no LED or fluorescent lamp designed for use as a modeling lamp with the Godox QT1200IIM Flash Head. You should use light modifiers that are designed for use with the Godox QT1200IIM Flash Head and which may be used with modeling lamps up to 150W in output power.
