Godox V860II Reviews
Will not fire (intermittent)
I discovered through trial and error that this unit will not fire when set to full power. If I set it to +0.9 power output (or anything less), it works fine. Set it to full power; It will not fire. It doesn't matter how I set the power, either on the back of the flash, or through my Sekonic trigger. Luckily, I am within the B&H warranty period and am now sending it in for repair. I suspect it is a firmware bug.
Not Good for Professional Use
I purchased this unit from B and H last week. I tried it for an hour first, and it seemed very promising. Then used it on a half-hour outdoor job with the client. The flash did not last the session. The flash seat is very flimsy and could not handle the weight of the flash on my A7-III camera. The seat was shattered and broke into pieces. The flash fell to the ground, which was the end of the shoot.
Very flimsy plastic
I got 2 and played with them to learn their settings. I stored them for a year because of COVID, then I only got to use each one once. The plastic to the shoe is very flimsy that it broke after a couple of hours of using it on top of the camera. Im absolutely disappointed as this looked like a very promising product.
Waste of money
I have not been able to use this. I have had the battery charge for DAYS and it finally picked up a charge. Put it in the flash, dead. I've been trying with this for months and haven't been able to get it working. I purchased this for work right before we shut down. Now that we are back, purchased orders have been lost so now I am just out of product and the money.
nice
easy
Great with G9 and GH6
I am using two of these with a Godox XPro TTL Trigger. The system is easy to use and more reliable with the radio than the older line-of-sight units that I had. The menu system is easy to master, especially with the help of some tutorial videos that are available.
Great Product, but trash.
Saw a lot of reviews on YouTube and purchased this about 2 years ago and it's worked great throughout my shots, but today marks the end of it as I was shooting with this flash and the connector broke mid shoot. I came to read everyone else's review and found out it's a common issue with this flash so consider this before buying this great yet weak product.
Nice flash that can be easily used off camera
I wanted an easy system to use flash off camera. It seems that Nikon doesn't make it easy, so I acquired this flash as well as the Godox X2 2.4 GHz TTL Wireless Flash Trigger for Nikon. It was so easy to setup and use. I will be looking to purchase additional flash units in the future and use my Nikon flashes on camera or a godbox x1R trigger with them. The rechargeable battery is nice but I have not tested how long it actually lasts. The price is hits a sweet spot.
