The Canon Flash connection has been standard for years and years. So yes this will work for your M50. It will also work for a newer camera if you decide to upgrade to the M5 or EOS RP.

Please withdraw my question submitted December 28, 2020 concerning Godox TT685c working with Canon EOS 5DS-R. Problem solved by retracting catch light panel and built-in wide panel completely. Apparently the slightest bit not fully retracted interrupts the ETTL functions. OK?
Asked by: Edgar
Yes, thank you for your submission. The panel is a common issue and as you stated must be fully retracted.

Hello Norman, I purchased this item for my daughter to use with both her T3 as well as her 7D canon cameras. She tested this while attending the Photo Plus Expo this past October 2019. We walked to B&H and she was able to test the flash on her T3 and have been very happy with the flash itself. I hope the information I have provide will be of use to you. D
