Packaged together by iZotope for your convenience, this Mix & Master Bundle is a software download providing standard versions of Neutron and Ozone 7. Neutron functions as a channel strip, providing EQ, dynamic EQ, single-band compression, multi-band compression, transient shaping, limiting, and more. It also helps you identify frequency masking problems between two tracks, and can create intelligent presets automatically addressing the needs of a given sound source with its Track Assistant.

Ozone 7, on the other hand, addresses all your processing needs for mastering, as it provides mastering-grade EQ, compression, multi-band compression, dynamic EQ, stereo-width enhancement, harmonic-distortion excitement, vintage modules, and a versatile Maximizer to handle your limiting. You'll also be able to apply dither. This software suite is compatible with Mac and Windows computers, working in AAX, AudioSuite, AU, RTAS, and VST formats.

  • Neutron Mixing Software with Track Assistant - Plug-In (Download)

Available for download, iZotope's Neutron is a bundle for mixing comprising a compressor, equalizer, exciter, transient shaper, and limiter. However, iZotope has gone beyond the usual mixing bundle here to offer intelligent tools that help you quickly identify potential problem areas in a mix and solve them expeditiously, often within a single instance of the plugin across multiple tracks. Furthermore, modules such as Neutrino are provided to help maintain the clarity, focus, and separation of individual tracks across a mix.

Particularly useful for mixing engineers is the masking meter, which visually identifies which frequencies in a given track are being overshadowed by other elements of the mix, and allows you to make the necessary adjustments to compensate. In practice, this is a suitable tool for quickly mitigating problems between kick drums and bass elements, guitars and vocals, guitars and keyboards, and more.

Also integral to Neutron is the Track Assistant, which listens to incoming audio signal and generates a custom, preset module chain based on what it analyzes. It is not a panacea, but rather, creates a suitable starting point for each individual instrument from which you can further explore creative possibilities.

This plugin is available for Mac and Windows platforms, and while there is no standalone version, you can operate it within VST, AU, AAX and RTAS formats.

  • Ozone 7 - Mastering Software (Download)

Ozone 7 from iZotope builds on the major updates the company made in Ozone 6, including an improved visual aesthetic for guiding users through every stage of the mastering process. Aside from the fluid workflow, the creative elements of mastering continue to be front and center in this update, allowing users to define their own sound with ease.

The Maximizer, updated for Ozone 7, features a new frequency-specific IRC IV algorithm to deliver transparent mixes with less pumping and distortion. Smooth out an unwieldy mix or tame kick drum peaks without affecting the vocals. The Dynamic EQ provides finer control over audio by taking advantage of the precision of an equalizer, with the musical ballistics of a compressor, in one integrated processor.

Two equalizers are included that combine eight bands of adjustable filters with a choice of filter shapes. Each band of dynamics is capable of three types of dynamics processing – limiting, compressing, and expanding, while an exciter module allows for dialing in the right amount of bite or warmth to a master. Precisely adjust the stereo width of an audio file using the four-frequency-band Imager module.

Additional presets have been created with outcome-oriented descriptions. Dithering has been updated and includes a set of bit scopes and DC level meters. The application also functions standalone, with the added enhancement of third party plug-in hosting. Trim and fade controls are provided, along with SRC (sample rate conversion) on import, plus single- and multiple-file export with the company's MBIT+ Dither.
