Jensen Transformers Iso-Max Overview

The single-channel, Jensen Transformers Iso-Max VRD-1FF is a passive, high-performance capacitive isolator, which prevents hum or buzz problems in either the audio or video portion of a professional A/V installation. By breaking 60-cycle ground loops, it provides a transparent path for video and cable modem signals, in digital cable/CATV/VHF/UHF/MATV systems.

The VRD-1FF combines gold-plated F connectors with a proprietary RF design to ensure true 75-Ohm compatibility, for optimized signal integrity, and minimized reflections and ghosting. This precise circuitry delivers a linear response from 2 MHz to over 1300 MHz, which helps eliminate interruptions of the two-way communication between the cable provider and their set-top box, and reduce frequency dips that cause channels to drop in digital cable.

Note:
The VRD-1FF is not suitable for use with RG11 cable or as an isolator for satellite dish systems
  • Single-channel, 75-Ohm passive isolator for digital cable/CATV/VHF/UHF/MATV – designed to break ground loops
  • Prevents hum/buzz and hum bars in either the audio or video signal
  • Provides transparent path for video and cable modem signals
  • Linear 2 MHz to 1300 MHz bandwidth
  • Capacitive-based design minimizes broadcast channel interference
  • F-type connectors with gold-plated contacts ensure true 75-Ohm compatibility, for optimal signal integrity, and minimized reflections or ghosting

Jensen Transformers Iso-Max Reviews

Works Great!

I was getting hum from my REL T9 subwoofer. REL customer service helped me track down the cause to electrical noise originating from my coax Xfinity cable connection and flowing through my cable box and my AV receiver and out to my subwoofer. After adding this ground isolator the hum immediately disappeared.

Expensive but knocked out the hum coming from my cable.

It worked perfectly to eliminate ground loop hum

This is the second VRD-1FF I've bought. The first one lasted 9 years, but this spring our house was hit by lightning. The old VRD-1FF started adding 6dB signal loss, so I figured the lightning hurt it. Just like the original, the new VRD-1FF has eliminated the ground loop hum that was on our incoming CATV Cable

Had a 60 cycle hum in my audio/video system and narrowed It down to the Blu-Ray player and cable box were causing a ground loop. Installed the Jensen ISO-Max VRD-1FF on the cable line before the box and it worked - no more hum. Much thanks to Jensen and B&H.

This seems like a pricey little widget, but it worked perfectly to eliminate a heavy hum in my new subwoofer setup (Dayton rackmount subwoofer amp, Dayton Reference 10 subwoofer) in my home theater. BTW this was at the suggestion of the documentation for the subwoofer driver.

Great device, bought to fix a ground loop hum between my catv coax coming into the house and my other audio-video equipment. So now no more hum and the video reception quality did not degrade.

Perfect for Denon & Comcast\Xfinity + subwoofer

I have Denon & Atmos speaker setup, cablebox from Comcast & a subwoofer. The cheap $20 isolator available online didn't do a good job since comcast signal was degraded per their tech. He said that it introduced some noise feed back to their other customers. Not sure how much of that is true but he did say that if I were to get an isolator get something over 1000mhz and this one fit the spec. I installed it and so far all is great. No issues with performance but the box label instructed to read instruction which were not in the box. So I went to their website and read it.
