Powerex MH-C801D Reviews

Works Fine

Only used this charger once so my comments are based on that on-time use. Everything worked fine; in fact it brought back to life a Powers AA battery from 2012. I like the face that you can charge any number of batteries up to the device capacity. The down side is it's reallly too large to travel with. So far, I'm very happy with the product!

Not working right...

The display is unreadable. I have to unplug it and plug it back in to see the display. Then it fades very quickly. Had a photoshoot and the batteries which had been on the charger for days were barely charged. Flash quit on me after 15 min of shooting. I'm not happy.

Does exactly what it’s supposed to do and I’m not spending lots of extra money on disposable batteries

Excellent Charger - Excellent Value

I have had this charger for more than 12 years and it does the job quickly every time. It can recondition older batteries and to get improved performance over time. Quick charging, and shuts off when finished. I have use several sets of Eneloop, Energizer, and Tenergy AA and AAA batteries for 8-10 years with consistent results. I believe some other chargers overcharge batteries, or charge them too quickly, and the batteries do not last as long. This one gets it right. JR

Excellent option for single battery charging and independent metering and charging of all batteries, preventing over-charge of fully charged batteries while other batteries catch up. Great battery reconditioning function. Digital display is simple and informative. To me simple is good because there's less to go wrong and there's no money wasted on fancy, unnecessary extras. Unit is robust. I expect it to last a very long time. Overall, worth the money.

Powerex never disappoints

After trying Eneloop and Amazon rechargeable batteries here I am, back to the best: Powerex! Charger is able to cycle/condition and fast or slow charge, the batteries are very high capacity and don't self-discharge. Excellent, would buy again

I wrote a review (which I don't know how to edit) that the display didn't work. I contacted the company, and they sent me a new charger. It works great now! Good customer support.

I was conditioning some old 2100mA Rayovac ...

I was conditioning some old 2100mA Rayovac rechargeables and was shocked to see two of them charged to 3886 mA and still increasing. I immediately unplugged the unit and removed the batteries. One is bubbly looking like it's about to explode. Is my charger defective, or did I do something wrong?
Asked by: Leanne
As an owner of this same charger, I have not experienced what you have. My charger has never done that to any of my batteries. I STRONGLY suspect that those batteries that “overcharged” were merely defective. All batteries have a limited life expectancy. As a suggestion, I would try charging other batteries that you KNOW are good and see I they would charge normally or “ overcharge”. Make sure to place the “good” batteries in the exact same slots that the “defective” ones were charged in. I think that the fresh rechargeable batteries will charge just fine! Sincerely, I think that you just had two defective “old” batteries. I hope my answer helps. Have a nice day. P.S.: I love my charger and have had it for 9 years!

question

Is this unit capable of charging Eneloop batteries as well as regular NiNH batteries?
Asked by: John
As a user of batteries and their chargers I can say, yes, it will work. As an agent for B&H I have to say this use is unsupported and if the batteries or the charger is damaged, the warranty will not be in effect.

question

are there cases included for the batteries for traveling?
Asked by: Jack
Yes they come in clear cases. Although I dropped one of mine and it broke. So just be careful because they can be fragile if dropped.
