Designed for active photographers, the gray CCS G3 Harness-1 from Cotton Carrier helps to evenly distribute the weight of a camera with a long lens. This arrangement keeps the camera at the ready for making the most of spontaneous photographic opportunities, while also keeping hands free, equipment safer from grab-and-go theft, and reducing unwanted camera movement. Photographers will appreciate the one-size-fits-all approach, comprised of adjustable shoulder straps and a quick-release waist belt.

Two stash pockets for memory cards or batteries and a large exterior pocket provide storage for accessories. The CCS G3 Harness is constructed from Kodra synthetic canvas and anodized aluminum, and features a Twist & Lock camera mounting system and vented back panel. Included with your harness are a hub with rubber washer, camera hub mounting bolt and tether strap, an Allen key, tether split-ring, and a rain cover.

Advantages
A quick-release waist belt with speed straps, two stash pockets for carrying extra memory cards or small items on the front, a large outside pocket on the back, and a touch-fastening lens hold-down strap work together for improved hands-free usage with greater mobility.
Twist & Lock Mount
The Twist & Lock camera mount system provides stability and security. One twist locks the camera in place, making it difficult for grab-and-go theft. It also stabilizes the camera so the wearer is free to move vigorously without excessive camera movement/banging.
Tripod Compatibility
The CCS G3 Camera Harness features a Twist & Lock mounting system. Included is an aluminum flat-hub which mounts onto all cameras with a 1/4"-20 tripod mounting socket. This hub also has its own 1/4"-20 tripod mount.
Optional Items - Sold Separately
Option 1: Add the Hand Strap for those times when you need a little extra stability.

Option 2: 10-Degree Angled Hub for a DSLR with a long lens.

Option 3: Universal Tripod Adapter Plate. This plate is compatible with most tripod heads on the market. It is cut to fit directly into any Arca-Swiss style head, and designed with enough adjustment holes to slide back and forth on the bottom of your camera to leave the battery door accessible.

This Harness Met My Needs

I bought this harness to allow me to carry a long lens comfortably while "birding" on uneven, rocky, and at times steep and wooded ground surfaces which is not always easy for a 70 year old. I ordered this harness on August 11th and it arrived on August 12th which is typical for my purchases from B&H. The package arrived in good shape. I tried it out with my Canon T7 and EF 75mm - 300mm f4.0 - f5.6 III lens with a combined weight approximately 1.5 pounds. The harness is well made. The harness straps were easy to adjust to a comfortable fit. The nicely finished hub mount connector was easy to attach to the camera body and the twist and lock camera mount system mated the camera to the harness securely. As advertised it distributed the camera-lens weight evenly and comfortably and held the camera lens setup securely to my body as I moved about. The twist & lock action is smooth. And I was rewarded with an unexpected gift on my first trial test:

Great for long days

I spent a few days in NYC for vacation with a Nikon D850 + Sigma Art 24-105, walking the streets all day long. This is a super comfortable system that allowed me to walk a continuous 4 days in NYC, under really hot weather (July 2022) without any pain. The system is quick enough to let you grab the camera within a second and the weight is properly split across shoulders and back. I really recommend it but you have to be aware that people look at you with interested eyes...

Long lens cotton carrier

This has solved all my walking in the parks with a long lens problems. Even though I have switched to mirrorless carrying the long lens around the neck or in my arms was still a hassle. The cotton carrier is so adjustable. I love it.

Almost perfect

Almost perfect. I believe that a fusion of this product and Peak Design Capture-Clip would make a perfect product. Turning your camera 90 degrees in order to pull it out or put it back is a very big effort when using anything larger than a 50mm prime. Also, the CCS camera piece that you mount on the bottom seems like an incomplete product and like they just said ok it works, it's good enough. The CCS camera piece also has a thread to screw on the tripod plate, but that does not work because the CCS mount is way to tall and has a small footprint, so when you mount the tripod plate it's all wobbly. I'm giving it 5-stars because it's the only product of this kind I have managed to find, so at the same time it makes it the best.

I need back support. Does this harness provide that?
Asked by: Cathy
Technically no, but it would certainly be much better than using a heavy camera on a traditional strap around your neck or shoulder. This harness would take some strain off your back compared to most other camera carriers.

Can this be worn under a backpack?
Asked by: Edwin
Yes, it could be. Please note that it will likely be putting weight in just about the same area as the straps to your backpack will. So, you may alternatively wish to consider mounting your camera to the backpack strap, for example with a Capture Clip (B&H# PECPBK3): https://bhpho.to/37P3pvd

The waist can go down to 26 inches, the up and down section is 9.5 inches x 4.3 inches, should fit no problem.

Hi there, I have a Canon 7D mark ii and an early EF400mm f/2.8 lens with a combined weight of 8kg (17.6 lbs) which is just too heavy for a strap as it digs into my shoulder. This combination is 58cm (23.5'') long and the lens hood is 18cm (8'') in diameter. Would this be comfortable to carry with your G3 harness ? Thanks Noel
Asked by: Noel
Yes, the Cotton Carrier CCS G3 Harness-1 (Gray) would be strong enough to comfortably support the Canon EOS 7D Mark II DSLR Camera and the Canon EF 400mm f/2.8 L IS USM Super Telephoto Lens.
