question

The daylight version doesn't operate at the usual 5600k, I presume there are some included cto drop in filters, are they any good? Also is there a dtap option to run vmount batteries in the field if needed?
Asked by: Ferhan
It comes with CTO gels and 1 acrylic CTO filter. They seem like 1/4 CTO to me, not certain. I used the acrylic filter with it on a shoot recently and it was not strong enough to match the 5500K Aputure 120d. There are other acrylic CTO filters on this site that I am considering pairing with this fixture.

No. It comes with a small, but very robust ball head that screws into the 1/4-20 thread mount on the bottom.

question

Is this light compatible with any Bowens-type speed ring?
Asked by: Joshua
No, it is not. While the larger Aputure Light Storm LS C120d/C120t and the Aputure Light Storm C300d LED Light use Bowens S-mount light modifiers, the smaller Aputure Light Storm LS-mini20d Daylight LED Light does not have a built-in Bowens S-mount and is not compatible for use with Bowens S-type speedrings or light modifiers.

question

I want to be able to battery power this light also. Is this possible?
Asked by: Ferhan
Then you're in luck. the kit comes with a battery mount, a 950/970 style batter, an adapter to plug into the light and even a clamp to mount the battery/mount to your tripod.Click on the other pictures of the kit and you will see what I'm talking about.

question

What would the effective throw distance of this light be in 20 degree spot mode? E.g. for lighting an event speaker at about 50 feet away?
Asked by: Pesi
Aputure only provides photometrics out to 1 meter (3 feet). At 1m/3ft, the photometrics at the spot setting would be 10,000 lux/929 foot-candles, and at the wide setting, it would be 1800 lux/167 foot-candles. Photometrics are not measured/listed for this fixture at 50 feet. The Aputure Light Storm LS-mini20d Daylight LED Light would not be powerful enough or recommended for illuminating a subject 50 feet away.
