  • 1Description

Bundling a Canon EF-mount lens with a dedicated lens adapter to Sony E-mount cameras, this Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Art Lens for Canon EF and MC-11 Mount Converter/Lens Adapter for Sony E Kit from B&H allows you to mount the versatile standard zoom to your mirrorless camera body, while retaining full autofocus, auto-exposure, image stabilization, and in-camera image correction technologies.

  • Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Art Lens for Canon EF

A versatile zoom for everyday shooting, the Canon EF-mount 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Lens from Sigma covers a useful wide-angle to portrait-length range of focal lengths to suit shooting in a variety of environments. As part of the esteemed Art series of lenses, a sophisticated optical design is used that incorporates three SLD elements and four aspherical elements to reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations, as well as color fringing, distortions, and other anomalies for greater clarity and sharpness. A Super Multi-Layer Coating has also been applied to suppress lens flare and ghosting for accurate color fidelity and high contrast, and a protective coating has been applied to the front element, too, to benefit working in harsh climates. Additionally, extending its versatility, a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture affords consistent performance throughout the zoom range as well as greater control over depth of field.

Complementing the imaging capabilities, the lens sports a Hyper Sonic Motor to produce quick, smooth, and quiet autofocus performance with full-time manual focus override. An Optical Stabilizer also benefits handheld shooting by minimizing the appearance of camera shake for sharper imagery. The physical design utilizes Thermally Stable Composite material for durability in a wide range of environments, and a brass bayonet mount also offers rigidity and mounting precision.

As part of the Art line within Sigma's Global Vision series, this lens is designed to achieve truly notable optical performance and is ideally suited for creative and artistic applications.
Standard zoom lens is designed for full-frame Canon EF-mount cameras, however it can also be used with APS-C models where it will provide a 38.4-112mm equivalent focal length range.
Constant f/2.8 maximum aperture is well-suited for working in available light conditions and also provides greater control over depth of field when using shallow depth of field techniques.
Three Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements markedly reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing throughout the zoom range for improved clarity and color accuracy.
Four aspherical elements control spherical aberrations and distortion for increased sharpness and accurate rendering.
A Super Multi-Layer Coating has been applied to lens elements in order to minimize lens flare and ghosting and contribute to producing contrast-rich and color-neutral imagery, even in backlit conditions.
Integrated HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) realizes quick and quiet autofocus, which is further complemented by an optimized AF algorithm to produce smoother focusing performance. The HSM also permits full-time manual focus control simply by rotating the focus ring at any time.
Optical Stabilizer system minimizes the appearance of camera shake by up to four stops to benefit making sharper imagery when shooting handheld.
Rounded nine-blade diaphragm is constructed from durable, fluorine-coated polycarbonate and also features a carbon feather film for smooth performance when working with fast continuous shooting rates.
Front lens element has been treated with a water- and oil-repellent coating to benefit working in harsh environmental conditions.
Constructed using a Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material for greater precision and use in wide temperature variations. Additionally, a brass bayonet affords improved mounting accuracy and rigidity. Additionally, rubber sealing is incorporated in the mount design to render it dust- and splash-resistant.
This lens is compatible with the optional Sigma USB Dock for fine-tuning different lens characteristics and updating its firmware.

  • Sigma MC-11 Mount Converter/Lens Adapter (Sigma EF-Mount Lenses to Sony E)

The MC-11 Mount Converter enables the use of Sigma EF-mount lenses on Sony E-mount mirrorless camera bodies, and maintains full lens performance, including autofocus and auto-exposure, as well as in-camera correction technologies. An integrated LED can be used to display select Sigma lens compatibility with the adapted camera body, and the adapter also supports in-camera image stabilization. In order to maintain a high degree of image quality, the interior of the adapter is flocked to reduce reflections, and it also retains full Exif data to benefit post-production and file management.

Per Sigma, this Mount Converter/Lens Adapter is compatible with a select number of Sigma's own EF-mount lenses, and may or may not be suitable for use with other manufacturers' EF-mount lenses.

Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Art Reviews

24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Art Lens for Canon EF and MC-11 Mount Converter/Lens Adapter for Sony E Kit is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A worthy alternative to the Nikon 24-70 2.8 This lens has exceeded my expectations in every way. Using it with 36MP Nikon D800 and it's my first non-Nikon lens, replacing my classic Nikkor 35-70 2.8, which was a super sharp lens, but lacked AF-S, ED, etc... this new Sigma was more appealing to me than Nikon's 24-70 2.8 because that lens is simply too large and heavy to be an all-around, general purpose shooter. The Sigma is extremely sharp, focuses silently and super-fast, very rugged/solid build quality. I do see some vignetting around the corners at f/2.8 but nothing major. And the bokeh looks great on my portrait-type shots so far. Two thumbs up. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and sharp I love this lens. Only having it for two weeks now, it is one of my favorite lenses I've ever used. Especially at 70mm for portraits it looks amazing.? It works perfectly with my 6D MKII, no focus issues so far. The side switches are nice, could imagine them getting moved when put in a bag, they are not has rigid as other lenses I've used. But I've never accidentally changed them. So really not a big deal.? The casing of the lens is a very solid metal. It feels great in the hand. Rubber grips are nice. It's a little heavy, but that's because of the great glass. As you can see, I really have no complaints about this lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the investment for the image quality you get I'm a family/child/newborn portrait photographer and I just purchased this lens because I shoot primarily with fixed lenses but really needed a good zoom to keep up with fast little kids that seem to be getting faster as I get older. Well, I've been blown away by the sharpness of this lens! I haven't used it outdoors yet, plan to for a family session this weekend, but used it during a newborn shoot this weekend in my studio and I was blown away! I ended up using it the entire session!! The lens itself is pretty heavy and larger than most of my lenses but that's a small price to pay for the quality of the images I'm getting from this lens. I love love love it and will continue to sing it's praises! I think I even like it more than my Sigma 35mm Art lens!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very high quality, sharp lens. ?One caveat though... I first want to say the positive. ?It's a very, very high quality lens. ?Extremely sharp (more so than the Nikon 2.8 24-70 I sold). ?It focuses very fast, and photos have an almost prime look to them when shooting wide open. ?Optics really are superior. ? Only two minor issues. ?It is very heavy. ?Not a big deal, but be aware of this if you have to carry it around all day at a wedding. ?Also, Nikon users be aware, the barrel zoom is OPPOSITE of Nikon. ?I.E. you turn it counter-clockwise to zoom in, and clockwise to zoom wide. ?It's a learnable thing, but a pain in the butt if you're using other Nikon zooms with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SIGMA ART LENSES. JUST THE BEST ON TODAY'S LENS MARKET! Just received the new 24-70mm, Nikon mount. It's just first class in every way. Right out of the box focus is dead on on the D-750. This lens took forever to to be released,However the lens was worth the wait . This is the sixth Sigma Art lens that we have now and I love all of them. I have nothing but parse for the Sigma ART lenses. In my option, they are the new go to lenses on today's professional market. No long story's with this New lens. Just the right lens for the right time. If you are looking for perfection get the Sigma's ART lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Glass After reading mixed reviews about this lens I had reservations about purchasing it. I eventually was swayed more by the positive reviews and purchased it from B&H for a Nikon D850 also purchased from B&H. This lens is built like a tank! Beautiful metal finish on the tube, it just feels like a heavy duty, high quality product. After taking it afield a few days, I’m very pleased. It’s sharp, focuses quickly and has a beautiful bokeh. This is the first non Nikon lens I have purchased in 40 years and I have no regrets. It was $1100 less than the Nikon version and produced great images.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed in this lens I was very excited about the release of this lens and pre-ordered it. I spend the last two days working with it - taking over 100 photos. Not one of them was in focus. I calibrated the lens several times with micro adjustments and the focus was still soft. I get tack sharp photos with my 50mm so it's not me or my camera. I don't know if I got a lemon or not but I am returning it to B&H. Sigma's solution when I contacted them was to send the lens and my camera to them for calibration. No way am I going to ship my 5D across the country. I'm going to bite the bullet and buy the Canon version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great option to Canon 24-70L Focuses great in low light. A bit heavy but once you feel the lens in your hands you feel the quality in build. Using on a 5d Mark IV. Very sharp, great colors. Highly impressed in my first week of using.

Would it come in E-mount flavor ? Any Ideas for the price range ?
Asked by: Anonymous
Currently there is no indication that this will be released in a E-Mount. Sigma however does sell their MC-ll (B&H # SIMC11C) lens adapter that will allow Canon Mount lenses to be used with Sony E-Mount bodies.
