All-in-one zoom is designed for Canon EF-mount APS-C-format DSLRs, and provides a 28.8-640mm equivalent focal length range.
Two molded glass aspherical elements and one hybrid aspherical element help to reduce chromatic aberrations and distortion throughout the zoom range to deliver notable sharpness and accurate rendering.
Three low dispersion elements suppress chromatic aberration and color fringing to realize improved clarity and color accuracy.
HLD (High/Low torque modulated Drive) motor delivers fast, precise, and responsive focusing performance that benefits both stills and video applications. The motor's design and circular arc shape also contributes to the lens's compact overall form factor.

This is an absolutely wonderful lens to use. It flawless in the way and ease of focusing on your subjects. The weight is great and doesn't overload my camera. Even being in my 80's, it is a complete joy to use everyday here in Alaska. Wildlife, sunsets, wild grasses and plants just pop in clarity and vividness. The action is so smooth and easy to get just the right focus. Thank you for letting me voice my opinion and I truly hope that others have found this of some help toward purchasing the same lens.

So far it seems good.

Versatile lens. In fact, I keep it on my camera all the time since it gives me everything I need from wide angle to normal to telephoto. Well proportioned lens that fits my Nikon D3200 perfectly, so it's easy to handle. This is the second Tamron zoom lens I've purchased. They are a great value for the price.

After using the lens for 2 months I can say that I'm pleased with it. I'm using it mainly for nature photography. The attached photo was taken a few days ago in South Luangwa NP / Zambia. The handling is good, the results are fine. It's good value for money.

I have several other Tamron lenses that I use on my Nikon D500, with which I have been very happy. I decided that for some trips with baggage size and weight restrictions, I really need a single good quality lens that could cover nearly all of my needs from wide angle to strong zoom. I read lots of reviews of this lens before purchasing it, and overall they were very positive. Although I have only had this lens for a few weeks, I have used at the full range from 18mm up to 400mm under multiple conditions. I have been delighted with this lens. The zooming ring is somewhat stiff, but I like that so that it is easier to control and keep at the desired zoom range. Focusing is fast even with some very shady conditions, although not quite as fast as with the 70-210mm f/2.8 lens. There may be some slight softness, especially at the edges when fully zoomed, it is minimal and 1 slightly soft photo actually was easily sharpened with Topaz Sharpen AI. The lens is light weight for the range of zooming that it provides and thus is very easy to carry even for fairly long hikes. Thus, this lens will be my all around lens for almost all of my photo tours, except African safaris, when I also will be using my Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens for a lot of the wildlife photos and occasional low-light circumstances when I may prefer my Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, which is very sharp and fast focusing.

Upgraded from the previous version that got damaged by sand and dust and couldn't be happier. Completely universal for my purposes. Anywhere from birthday parties to surveying outdoors. Works very well with my t3i.

Best purchase ever

In love with the lens. Can zoom in closer on images without having to change to another lens. Little heavier than my other lens but have gotten use to it. So glad that I pitched this lens. Want to thank the employee who helped me with my purchase. Very kind and helpful.

question

Is anyone already bought this lens for a Canon mount from B&H? Because it shows for preorder and Expected availability: Sep 6, 2017.And I don't know why is so delay for Canon mount when for Nikon was available a few weeks ago.
Asked by: Mauricio
We apologize for getting to this question late, but we often order products in different quantities, even the same lens for different camera mounts. In addition to the quantities ordered, those that our customers buy are often bought in different quantities and at different rates, so it is likely that we could have one mount in stock and another not in stock. Just as likely as having all in stock or none.
