Characterized by apt focusing speed and image stabilization, the Canon EF-mount SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 from Tamron is a revised fast standard zoom covering a versatile wide-angle to portrait-length range. A sophisticated optical design with two extra refractive elements, three low dispersion elements, three glass-molded aspherical elements, and one hybrid aspherical element helps to suppress aberrations and distortion throughout the zoom range while eBAND and BBAR coatings have been applied to individual elements to control lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity. Balancing its optical attributes, this lens also utilizes a USM autofocus motor to deliver notably quick, quiet, and precise focusing performance that suits both stills and video applications. Also, 5-stop-effective Vibration Compensation helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting in difficult lighting conditions. Additionally, the lens is moisture-resistant and has a fluorine coating on the front element to enable its use in trying environmental conditions.

Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Reviews
Good, my default general lens
I'd say the lens has good sharpness very fast autofocus and great vc. I love a fixed 1.4 but the versatility this brings at 2.8 is a great trade off for most situations. F2.8 and the VC make the low light abilities of this lens really good with the versatility of the zoom. Paired with a newer generation low noise at high iso camera a flash is often unnecessary shooting people indoors unless it's done for balancing light or other reasons.
great lens
Great lens. Once you get that you will be good
Started with a 70-200 so this really made sense.
I started off with a Tamron G2 70-200 f2.8 which is hands down one of the best lenses I ever owned. A fraction of the cost of Canon without sacrificing much at all. I used to be a Panasonic m43 user and then switched to BMD Pocket 4k cameras. I am using both the Tamron lenses on a Metabones Speedbooster and they work great. I now have moved on to first a Canon M6 mk2 and now a Canon R6 mainly for the really good EF lens adapting support. Both work wonderfully and while we wait for 3rd party lens support on the Canon RF mount we have some great affordable EF options out there like the Tamrons.
Great Lens at a Bargain price
Great walk around lens. Excellent build and handles well. Professional grade lens at a bargain price. Has become a permanent fixture on my Nikon D750.
Intermediate Level User
I've only used it for about a thousand shots and as a hobbyist with intermediate level equipment I'm satisfied up to this point.
Low Light Phenomenon
Recently I was asked to shoot a week of Vacation Bible School at my church. Many areas do not have enough light to shoot at a reasonable ISO. This lens helped tremendously even though I still had to clean up noise in post, but I did not have to lug a tripod up and down stairs all day! In decent light, this lens is phenomenal!
Incredible lens
I've been looking for 70 to 24 mm lens for a long time. After doing my research I settled on the Tamron. Let me tell you I am not one bit disappointed. I took this lens and use it on a red carpet photoshoot and the pictures were amazing. Razor sharp and great color. Could not be happier
Sharp/Clear pictures
I did a lot of research on reviews of this lens vs. the Nikon version of this lens. Believe it or not, the reviews were pretty equal with some saying they thought this lens had better VR than the Nikon, at a much more reasonable price. I am very satisfied with it. The pictures are sharp and clear and when not shooting BIF, this is my go to lens. It's well made and quite hefty - you know it's on the camera.
