Characterized by apt focusing speed and image stabilization, the Canon EF-mount SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 from Tamron is a revised fast standard zoom covering a versatile wide-angle to portrait-length range. A sophisticated optical design with two extra refractive elements, three low dispersion elements, three glass-molded aspherical elements, and one hybrid aspherical element helps to suppress aberrations and distortion throughout the zoom range while eBAND and BBAR coatings have been applied to individual elements to control lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity. Balancing its optical attributes, this lens also utilizes a USM autofocus motor to deliver notably quick, quiet, and precise focusing performance that suits both stills and video applications. Also, 5-stop-effective Vibration Compensation helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting in difficult lighting conditions. Additionally, the lens is moisture-resistant and has a fluorine coating on the front element to enable its use in trying environmental conditions.

Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Reviews
Tamron 24-70mm G2 for Nikon F
Just purchased a used 24-70mm G2. Initial tests show I got a good unit. I’ve read lots of good and not so good reviews. Could not afford the Nikon ED VR, and I wasn’t impressed with Sigma’s 24-70. Using the Tamron on my D810 with excellent results across all zoom/focus distances. And so far I see no focus breathing. A complaint I’ve read often. Absolute consistency through the range, especially with the AF that has gotten such mixed reviews. My initial tests were focusing to the very left side of the frame, was super quick and grabbed the area without any hunting. And I will say this lens is sharp. Love its rendering. I already have Tamrons 35 f/1.8, also a stellar lens. IMO, best 24-70mm for the money. B&H has always been a go to store for me and always super happy with their customer service.
Tamron SP 24-70 f/2.8 Di VC G2
A well built high quality lens perfect as a walk about and general use lens. Quick auto focusing with excellent image quality makes this lens a dream to use. The VC really works well especially in low light and when not using a tripod. I did a lot of research before choosing this lens over other competing brands of 24-70mm lenses. I felt this lens best met my needs when shooting with my Canon 5d Mark 4.
