The 17.3" GL72M Gaming Notebook from MSI is a system for on-the-go users looking to accomplish more than just your everyday tasks. Powered by a 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7-7700HQ quad-core processor, 16GB of 2133 MHz DDR4 RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card with 2GB of GDDR5 VRAM, the GL72M is also built for gaming. Thanks to the dedicated graphics card, it has the graphical processing performance required for playing high definition games. For storage, it has a 256GB M.2 SATA SSD and a 1TB 7200rpm HDD. Should you need more space, you can connect external storage solutions using its multiple USB ports, one of which features the Type-C interface, as well as its SD media card reader.

Its large 17.3" display features a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution and is built with an eDP IPS-level panel, which offers vivid and immersive colors with wide viewing angles. You'll also be able to connect two additional monitors for enhanced multitasking or larger viewing using its HDMI and DisplayPort connections. Connect to the Internet via 802.11ac Wi-Fi and pair compatible wireless peripherals with Bluetooth 4.0 to free up its USB ports for more important devices. Other integrated features include a webcam, speakers, microphones, and audio in/out jacks. The operating system installed is Windows 10 Home (64-Bit).

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-Series Graphics Cards
NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 10-series graphics cards can deliver up to a 40% increase in performance over the previous generation. Not only are they powerful, they can deliver similar performance to their desktop counterparts with a slight performance difference. This changes mobile gaming, allowing you to max out your game's visuals settings so you can enjoy it at its best.
MSI Shift Technology
MSI Shift technology lets you adjust your system's performance as needed. Easily switch between different profiles using the FN + F7 hotkey combo for extreme gaming or longer battery life.
Cooler Boost 4
Featuring a total of six heat pipes split among the GPU and CPU, this system offers improved cooling for maximum performance during extended gaming sessions.
eDP IPS-Level Display
Covering 72% of the NTSC color range, the eDP IPS-level display provides you with vivid and immersive colors. It also offers wide viewing angles so onlookers will have an easier time spectating.
Matrix Display
By using both the HDMI and Mini DisplayPort connections on this laptop, you'll have a total of three displays at your disposal. With more displays, you can have an easier time multitasking, working, and gaming.
Nahimic 2 & Audio Boost
Nahimic 2 audio software offers high definition sound technology that provides 3D virtual surround sound. With it, you'll be able to easily locate enemies based on their steps and actions. Combine it with the visual Sound Tracker to see where the noise is coming from.

Audio Boost enhances sound detail and golden audio jacks provide more stable sound transmission with less interference. The jacks are also optimized for headset use so you can enjoy detailed sound with low noise and low distortion.
Red LED Backlighting
The keys on the GL76M feature silver print lining that lasts longer and red LED backlighting, so that you can type and game even in dimly lit environments.
MSI Dragon Center
MSI Dragon Center is a downloadable software that gives you full control of your system and lets you monitor your hardware.
WTFast is a private gaming networking designed to reduce lag, ping, and packet loss, so you can enjoy a smoother gaming experience.

Windows 10

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana, can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the Internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information-gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

    17.3" GL72M Gaming Notebook is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from more excellent than bad good>>fast, super quiet, hardly breaks a sweat. SSD drive let me load photoshop in seconds. would buy again. bad>took 4 hours to install, I thought something was wrong, but when it was done, wow. keyboard layout took some getting used too, slightly different delete key location learned about SSD drives, this one, just like all SSDs, need special consideration, pros are speed, cons are finite life per sector, and you need to have 25% free at all times, so go 256 or bigger for your SSD. Also, you should take the time to insure that all program files are saved to the "D" drive to save space on your "C" drive SSD. Don't worry, it pulls from the "D" much faster because if uses the "C" for system and swap files. The cpu hardly ever runs over 5%, even when burning a DVD, and before you correct me, yes, it has no DVD, but I purchased a $20 usb DVD. Who really uses a dvd anymore, so I a like the fact that my computer uses the extra room in the case for heat pipes and two drives. bottom line, LOVE IT, but do your research on SSD, you might as well, because they will all be SSD eventually due to the blazing speed. Oh, and make sure that defrag is disabled on "C", defrag is not necessary on SSD.
